Le coq sportif est né en 1882 à Romilly-sur-Seine, près de Troyes, capitale de la bonneterie en France. Emile Camuset, artisan bonnetier passionné de sport et véritable visionnaire, créa la marque tricolore, une marque au service de tous les sportifs, de l ’amateur au professionnel.

À l ’aube du 20ème siècle, est fabriqué le tout premier survêtement - le costume du 7ème jour : une prouesse technique réalisée grâce à l ’uti l isation d’un jersey souple et au développement de techniques de tricot innovantes.

La marque tricolore signe son retour à Romilly en 2010, en y installant son centre de développement texti le, puis en 2012 une unité de production.

Sincérité, passion et authenticité sont les valeurs qui ont porté le coq sportif au sommet de l ’excellence, témoin des plus beaux moments de sport : sur les routes du Tour de France pendant plus de 40 ans, lors des victoires légendaires de l ’Argentine en Coupe du Monde en 1986 et de l ’ Italie en 1982, de la consécration de la star de tennis française Yannick Noah à Roland Garros en 1983.

Aujourd’hui, le coq sportif est plus que jamais au cœur du sport. En 2012, pour ses 130 ans, le coq sportif devient à nouveau l ’équipementier du Tour de France. Yannick Noah fait toujours partie de la famille du coq qui célèbrera avec lui, le trentième anniversaire de sa victoire en Grand Chelem. I l a été rejoint en 2007 par son fi ls, le joueur de basket professionnel Joakim Noah, qui participe en 2013 à son premier All-Star Game. Egalement fiers ambassadeurs de la marque : le joueur de rugby Frédéric Michalak qui bri l le avec son club, le RC Toulon, et Yannick Agnel, dernière recrue le coq sportif et jeune prodige de la natation française, sacré double champion olympique en 2012.

LA BELLE HISTOIRE

Le coq sportif ’s origins l ie in Romilly-sur-Seine in a French region synonymous with the finest in hosiery craftsmanship. One of the craftsmen, Emile Camuset, combined his passion for hosiery and sport to create the tricolour brand. Applying his drive and expertise, he became the leader in sports apparel and the first choice for all sportsmen.

With the application of innovative knitting techniques on functional jerseys, le coq sportif created a new comfort in sports garments in the early 20th century that culminated in the invention of the 7 day suit – the tracksuit.

The brand made a return to Romilly in 2010 with the establishment of the Textile Development Centre and in 2012, opened a new production unit.

Le coq sportif ’s passion for quality brought the brand to the forefront of world sport: the Tour de France for more than 40 years; the legendary World Cup Champion teams Argentina in 1986 and Italia in 1982; the 1983 Roland Garros winning tennis star Yannick Noah; and most notably, kitting out the everyday sportsman.

Le coq sportif ’s heritage is deep rooted in sport, today more than ever. In 2012, to celebrate its 130th anniversary, le coq sportif once again became the official supplier of Le Tour de France. Yannick Noah sti l l stands by the brand, as it celebrates his thirtieth anniversary of his Grand Slam victory. In 2007, he was joined by his son, basketball player Joakim Noah, who earlier this year participated in his first All-Star Game. Other brand ambassadors include; elite rugby player Frédéric Michalak of RC Toulon and le coq sportif ’s newest recruit and French swimming prodigy Yannick Agnel, who in 2012 became a double Olympic champion.
