The exchanger is made up of two physically separate heat exchangers and connected

together with flanges. In the top exchanger, high temperature smoke (about 850-950 ° C) passes directly from the

combustion chamber to the exchanger without any change of direction.

The most obvious effect is the increased efficiency of the system due to the low temperature of

the exhaust smoke.

400°C

The image shows the effect in a 9 MW steam boiler : Steam temperature 182.6 ° C

and smoke outlet temperature 167.1 ° C.

Boilers for Treated and Demolition Wood

10

UE LEGISLATIVE FRAMEWORK

Treated wood is equated with a waste, so the

reference Standard Norm is the European Directive

WID (Waste Incinerator Directive) 2000/76 / EC

W.I.D. Boilers

11

To comply with Norms, Binder designed a family of boilers specifics for

treated wood

• Combustion temperatures ≥ 850 ° C

• Increase the volume of the combustion chamber to ensure a residence time of smoking at 850 ° C ≥ 2 "

Supplementary fossil fuel (gas, oil or other) burner to automatic restart in the event the temperature drops below 850 ° C;

the burner is activated during boiler ignition

Dust Reduction System in the atmosphere composed by cyclone precipitator and bags or electrostatic filter.

• The entirety cyclone + filter ensures compliance with the most restrictive Norms (<10 mg/Nm3)

• Flue gas recirculation system consists of high temperature fans and steel ducts with thickness 3 mm.

The gas recirculation system has a dual advantages: Introduction into the combustion chamber of part of gaseous effluent

maintains a constant volume combustion air but drastically reduces the quantity of oxygen, limiting the possible

development of extremely high temperatures that would develop clinker, on the other hand, a post combustion smoke,

drastically reduces NOx type "thermal“ production.

• Oxides of nitrogen (NOx) reducing system type NSCR, composed of an urea tank for liquid diluted CO (NH2)2, metering

pump and nozzle for the atomization: the system is offered optional depending on the Local Norms

• System of reduction of the CO that occurs without any additional aid but it´s only due to the proper redistribution of the

average temperature in the combustion chamber

• PLC for automatic control of the entire combustion process with λ probe, NOx sensor, temperature sensors, etc.. with its

program of combustion optimization specifically designed for treated wood

Devices to increase efficiency and power

modulation

in case of wet fuels.

1) HiLoVe System• The HiLoVe System is integrated in the heat exchanger and bypasses

the 2nd pass (independent if vertical or horizontal design).

• The HiLoVe system allows proper part-load operation even when

using fuels with high water contents (> 45% water content) without the

risk that the flue gas temperatures drops below a preset value. It

prevents downstream components from the risk of condensation and

deposition.

• HiLove System

• Since the heat exchanger surface between 1st and 2nd pass is nearly

evenly distributed, but the energy input of the 1st pass is nearly 2 times

the input of the 2nd pass, bypassing of the 2nd pass ensures a

reasonable flue gas temperature (e.g. in the range of 120 to 140°C).

The flue gas flow rate within the heat exchanger is kept high enough

by the HiLoVe System to avoid deposition in the heat exchanger. 16
