Why we run the Year 9 Program?

Belgrave Heights Christian School recognises that there is a significant opportunity to provide for our Year 9 students a vibrant year of fresh experiences alongside the academic environment.

Why run the Year 9 Program …Students at this level often feel very much like the "middle child", ready to accept greater responsibilities and challenges but unable to do so in a traditional school structure.

Therefore, BHCS has developed an innovative program designed to cater for individual abilities and learning styles giving them greater responsibilities as the year progresses.

The AimTo develop student’s independence and knowledge of who they are as young people.

To expose them to a variety of different information and experiences, in and out of the confines of the classroom walls.

To develop positive and meaningful relationships with friends and peers.

The AimEvery Friday students look in depth at the term theme. It is an environment which allows students to develop self-esteem and confidence.

The program allows for learning experiences that are demanding, relevant and attractive.

The Benefits

This year will provide Year 9 students with the skills, not only to tackle VCE and other studies resourcefully, but also to prepare them for lifelong learning.
