HISTORY HARYANA : “THE ABODE OF GOD” Ancient name of haryana is HARITANAKA. Haryana was named after the Great Rana Har Rai, a great General of

Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. Haryana has witnessed several decisive battles Battle of Kurukshetra

described in the Mahabharata and the three battles of Panipat.

GEOGRAPHY The Yamuna- Ghaggar plain forming the largest part of the state. The Shivalik Hills to the northeast Semi-desert sandy plain to the southwest The Aravalli Range in the south Thorny, dry, deciduous forest and thorny shrubs are present.
