張致中，1986年生於高雄，國立台灣師範大學美術學士，現就讀於國立台灣師範大學美術研究所西畫創作組碩士班、並創作於台北。

專長領域涵蓋：西洋繪畫（油彩、水彩、蛋彩、壓克力、複媒…等）、東洋繪畫（水墨、彩墨、漆藝）、攝影、插畫、平面設計、文字寫作、數位影像。

早期以插畫、素描、油畫為創作主軸，也進行攝影、錄像等複合媒體創作。

近期創作多以細密繁複、充滿象徵及隱喻元素的奇想人物、空間與幻視為創作題材。於台灣各地與中國北京皆有展演活動，作品收藏於中台等地。

2011年至今創作主軸為《歌百工》計畫，試圖將章回小說式的文學閱讀經驗帶入繪畫創作，並以書寫工具的鋼筆展開探究創作本質與形式疆界的魔幻行旅。子系列《歌百工：關鍵人物》陸續與不同形式之年輕藝術家進行合作創作。

個展發表於誠品書店、以及台北台南等地。

本系列創作曾入選2012高雄獎以及2012國美館青年藝術家作品典藏，並於2014年獲得知名德國文具品牌LAMY台灣總代理之創作贊助、並獲天美藝術基金會遴選為『2014台灣當代藝術家海外參訪計畫』代表團之一，前往北京進行交流。

C.C. Chang, Chih-chung, born in 1986 in Kaohsiung, lives and works currently in Taipei, Taiwan. Earned BA in fine arts and now studying for MA in Graduate Institute of NTNU Department of Fine Arts, majoring western painting.

Particularly works on: western painting (oil color, water color, tempera, acrylic color and mixed-media painting…etc.), Eastern Asian painting (ink, colored ink painting & lacquer), photography, illustration, graphic design, writing and digital arts (video & digital painting)

Formerly works mainly on illustration, drawing & sketch, oil painting, with partially photographs, videos, and mixed-media. Prone to create imaginary figures, spaces and illusions associated with detailed, complex textures as well as symbolic, metaphoric icons and materials in recent artworks. Exhibition activities all over Taiwan and Beijing, China; and art collections in Taiwan and China.

Major Project “Ode to Walks of Life”, since 2011, tries to merge the chapter-novel structure into painting art, and begins a magical journey with writing instrument – a “fountain pen”, to explore through the boundaries of creative essences and artistic forms. “THE KEY FIGURES”, as subproject of Project “Ode to Walks of Life”, are cooperated with so far 4 other young artists of various media and forms.

Solo Exhibitions were held in Eslite Bookstore, Taipei & Tainan, Taiwan.

This project was selected in 2012 Kaohsiung Award, and also to the 2012 Young Artist Collection of NTMFA. In 2014 the project gained honorably sponsored by renowned German stationary Brand LAMY’s Taiwan distributor with painting instruments, and artist selected by Tianmei Art Foundation as member of representatives for “ 2014 Taiwanese Contemporary Artists Overseas Visit Program” to Beijing.

《歌百工》計畫，試圖在平面繪畫的時空斷面特性上發現時間性的可能，以文件化、劇本式、寓言故事的複合概念並存，尋求新的視覺藝術觀看經驗。

以虛構文本的架構，將章回小說式的文學閱讀經驗帶入繪畫創作，並以書寫工具的鋼筆展開探究創作本質與形式、現實與幻想疆界的魔幻行旅。

「《歌百工計畫》為近期終於復見天日，正試圖修復重建的、極富爭議性的民俗學樣本。

計畫緣起之時間與地點已不可考，推測其目的應為對黎民風土與眾生樣貌的考證與紀錄。

紀錄者曾尋訪各地，詳實地以圖文描繪的方式採集無數不同時空、地理、文明背景的人類活動。

讀者可從這些職業群像中略窺見大千世界之下、迥異的時代精神與理則價值......」

Project “Ode to Walks of Life“ is a trial to unveil the possibility of temporality beneath the spatiotemporally sliced characteristics of easel painting. To achieve a new visual art experience with a merging conception of documentation, script formation and fable story.

Based on the structure of fiction texts, chaptered reading is brought into painting artworks, along with the aid of writing/painting instrument – a fountain pen, to unfold a magical journey across the boundaries of creating essence as well as forms, and fantasy as well as reality.

"Project <Ode to Walks of Life>, a intensely controversial sample of Folkloristics, is

currently repaired to expect its reconstruction.

The precise dates and sites of the project originally organized are no more traceable,

though considered positively its

potential aim toward a universal investigation and research on folklore as well as

custom of all human beings.

The author was believed to travel throughout the world, depicting with images and texts

detailedly all anthropological activities within great varieties of times and spaces,

besides the geographical as well as cultural backgrounds.

Here we could approach through these figures of all walks of life in the great world yet

those diverse spirits and values from disparate eras..."
