New Lenovo VibrantView Display vs. Anti-Glare

VibrantView Anti-GlarePhysical description:• The outer surface of the LCD is smooth with mirror-like • Allows light to pass through the display with minimal diffusion.

Physical description:• The outer surface of the LCD is intentionally roughened to diffuse reflections

Noticeable benefits include:• Sharper contrast• Create better image visibility in bright light (including sunlight)• Allows lower backlighting for similar perceived brightness and color depth. • Crisper images• Increased color depth• Wider viewing angles

Benefits include:

•Best for deterring visual fatigue and distraction created by reflections on the display surface• Reduced intensity of glare from surrounding light sources (light fixtures, windows, etc.) • Eliminates clearly defined reflections that appear super-imposed over the image from the LCD

Usage cases & environments:• Intended to optimize the multimedia experience.• Ideal for viewing high-end graphic and video content in lowly lit environments.

Usage cases & environments:

•Intended to minimize reflections during long-term use of the display.•Ideal choice for users who want to optimize for typical office work in environments with standard ambient lighting.•For typical office work, ergonomists will recommend this display type due to the visual ergonomic benefits.

Intevideo InstantON • What does this software do?

– Allows users to save battery life and quickly access multimedia through a special pre-boot environment

• What will the customer experience be?– Faster: When customer presses InstantON button on system - InterVideo interface appears in less than 10 seconds (roughly 5 times faster than starting Windows)– Easier: Interface utilizes icons in a consolidated menu, instead of drop down lists across several applications– More efficient: Since the full OS is not initialized, the drain on system battery is considerably less

• Why do we need this in the V100 Series?– Differentiates from competition and solidifies multimedia leadership (along with Multimedia Center within Windows)

• Functional Summary– Playback support

• DVD Video, DVD-VR, VCD, SVCD, CD Audio, MP3• Picture Slideshow

– Enhanced Effects• Audio: Surround, Equalizer, Hall Effects• Video: Contrast/Brightness Control, Image Filtering, Saturation
