The term “Wakon” symbolizes traditional Japanese spirit

and is often described in traits such as grace, bravery,

compassion and a sense of fairness. The event’s logo

combines Japanese “Kumiko art” - a traditional art motif

used in architecture with the beautiful calligraphic inter-

pretation of the word “Wakon”, created by artist Ogawa

Keika.

Please indulge in tonight’s refined ambiance, with a

Japanese artistic concept and a Raison D’etre view of the

Tonight’s music will express the world principle that em-

bodies all existence, as described in Chinese “Taiji” and

Japanese Buddhism. The evening’s sounds will flow from

beautiful, serene piano solo to lively and passionate Japa-

nese Koto and Chinese erhu performances. The state of

serenity and fairness, symbolized by the color WHITE or

“Sei” meaning serenity will gradually change into the

state of liveliness and intransigent philanthropic spirit,

symbolized by the color “RED” and “Dou” meaning live-

liness. The musical performances will express both states

and will be enhanced by various lighting effects.

Japanese Calligraphy Performance as a bridge

between two states.

After piano solo performance conducted by Hara

Marihiko, Ogawa Keika, a Japanese calligraphy artists

concludes “Sei” state - a sub theme of our event with her

graceful calligraphy performance which will gradually

shift the eveving’s experience toward “Dou” state.

Japanese musician who gained his fame by com-posing

the theme song for JAXA satellite and Air defense force

“Blue Impulse” in Japan

The performance offers a Japanese calligraphy perfor-

mance with Tate’s profound earthly ambiance produced

by his unique instruments which exceeds beyond bounda-

ries of musical genre, races, and even dimensional space

and time.

Tate utilizes various traditional instruments he found

through his long musical career and combined them with

his original instruments in or-der for his music to produce

profound sound effect of a uniquely innovative yet uni-

versal world of new sounds.

From talk show hosting and features reporting to chil-

dren’s television and media consulting, Janica Southwick

has worked as an entertainer and image consultant in

Japan for the past 10 plus years. She made her debut at

Fuji TV, as a regular comedian in Japan's top rated pro-

gram, "Vocabura Tengoku". For five years, Janica starred

in “Eigorian" (NHK) as the main actress. She has hosted

national prime time weekly talk-shows and has worked

as a reporter for NHK World, BS Asahi, SkyPerfect,

AXN and others. She is a bilingual MC, and has hosted

Japan's top events, including Miss Universe and Miss

World and a plethora of official diplomatic events.

She was the Japan face for Dr. Perricone and worked in

cosmetic PR for 5 years. As a certified image consultant,

she has coached over 4,000 people, including top celebri-

ties and executives since 2003. She is gaining popularity

as a self-motivational speaker and corporate trainer, trav-

eling nationwide giving upbeat seminars to major corpo-

rations such as NEC, GSK, Seiko and Fuji Zerox on

presentation and self-image.

A book of 10 years of her research on mastering non-

verbal communication for non-native English speakers,

will be published May, 2015. Janica also had two col-

umns for Seventeen magazine and freelances as a writer

for other publications.

Janica studied under Makoto Shichida and is also a spe-

cialist in right brained learning, giving an edge in her

corporate teaching style, producing results and making a

lasting impression.

She is the owner of a foreign talent agency, with over

300 registered talents and entertainers, as well as an in-

ternational beauty salon, where ladies from around the

world who value beauty, including diplomats, wives of

top executives, etc. frequent regularly.

Janica is also an entrepreneur mother and the owner and

operator of JoliNails, 2 time world champions in nail art,

with locations in Shirokane, Roppongi Hills and newly

opened Grand Hyatt Tokyo, is the leader in nail design,

regularly being featured in the top nail trend magazines

internationally, CNN, BBC News and national television

Ikebana artist

CEO of 5 Senses KK

Nicoleta graduated with a BA in linguistics from the University

of Bucharest and holds an MA in Mass Communications from

Leicester University. She also studied Japanese at Gakushuin

University in Tokyo. Nicoleta is fluent in English and Japanese.

She believes that flowers and ikebana hold the key to the

universal language and as an art form they are a powerful

means of communication. She brings modern European flair to

the traditional Japanese art, by bridging the East and West with

stunning creations that involve all 5 senses. Each arrangement

is unique and created for the occasion and all the original

designs are decided after thorough research into the theme of

the event. She believes in a holistic approach when creating and

enjoying her ikebana arrangements and this involves aspects

that engage all senses, in order to enhance the overall

experience.

From small table decorations, to hotel centerpieces or larger

stage displays, she is involved in the whole creative process and

delivers impeccable service from the designing table, prepara-

tion, set-up to the regular maintenance and final dismantle.

Nicoleta had various collaboration projects with Japanese art-

ists and from July 2015 to July 2016 she was in charge with

creating 2 weekly centerpieces for Peter’s Restaurant (The

Peninsula Hotel, Tokyo). She teaches ikebana at The British

School in Tokyo.

messenger to the other gods, carried a winged staff

entwined with two snakes. The word “caduceus”

from Latin, is a modification of Greek “karykeion”,

from karyx, meaning “herald”. This art motif from

ancient Greek is used as the symbol used by many

The maternity often represents as a symbol of birth of our

universe. This auction offers the painting titled “Mermaid” as a maternity in which Muramasa, a painter

symbolically expressed his reverence toward the origin of

all universe - maternity.

In this painting, Muramasa attempted to symbolize his

gratitude toward the universe with vividly painted with

unfading beauty of all-beings including mermaid herself

and other creatures in the frame. “Muramasa Kudo” is the

worldly renowned Japanese painting artist who has gained

his popularity among global affluent community including

Hollywood celebrities, ultra-high net worth global profes-

His unique paintings style with its beauty of the Japanese

calligraphy art inspired line drawing skills is his original

“Shodo” is one form of calligraphy for Japanese

language. Keika had been attracted by the beauty of

Japanese calligraphy and become a practitioner

since her childhood. She became a master of callig-

raphy at the age of 16th. For this auction, she will

offer the art of Japanese calligraphy “Wa” - harmo-

ny and “Tamashii” - soul. As a professional artist

who aims to promulgate the profound world of Japa-

nese calligraphy, she offers her artistic services for

Abstract Painting Art x2 (Untitled)

Kim Yahya started painting actively from 2012, after

the long interval. He was encouraged to submit his art

work at Royal Academy Summer exhibition and ac-

cepted and exhibited in 2013. According to him, he

would like to explore and boldly challenges the all

possibility of abstract painting art. His ritualistic effort

to face with canvas is dedicated to produce artistic

representation of something conceptually abstract or

non descriptive or even non objective.

He founds that working in this ultimate free style

gives him freedom mentally and spiritually which is

considered to be the total divergence from structure,

system or even material world which are directly tied

to the limitation of the medium which works alongside

the principle of time and space.

He has exhibited for Crisis, a national homelessness

charity and auctioned at Christies. He is making a

number of new work based on objects that he encoun-

ter and collect. Along side painting work he work as a

scientist.

self in a new attire. 40 years later out of the Kufstein

factory, which is the original birthplace of the Somme-

liers collection; the sons of the original glass makers

are carrying out the Sommeliers Black Series. Black,

non-transparent, crystal, and blown into shape using

the original molds, the Black Series celebrates this

remarkable anniversary. Crystal turns black, by adding

Cobalt and Manganese to the composition. For the

trained and experienced glass maker to blow the bowl

and pull the stem of such a glass, is an additional chal-

lenge as this composition cools and hardens much

faster than clear crystal. To raise the bar of glass mak-

ing further, the stem of Sommeliers “R” Black Series

was upgraded by adding a fine red glass string which

is jacketed in clear crystal. Sommeliers Black Series

can be used as a drinking vessel but is primarily con-

sidered as an object of beauty gracing the homes of

wine collectors.

Raison detre project started since 2015 with several

philanthropic minded professionals in and outside of

Japan. We countlessly discussed about the possibil-

ity of innovative approaches to bolster up fundrais-

ing for meaningful social investment / philanthropic

programs world wide while keeping its political in-

dependence without being affected by political inter-

est groups. We as a global team finally orchestrated

our ideas and know-how including IT, science, mar-

keting and implemented several fundraising support

for several non-government organizations.

Being mutually respectful is getting tough under the

recent highly controlled somewhat dehumanized

global society. Now, it is critically important for us

to share ideas and think about our future as a global

citizens for Japan and global society as well as your

own future.

Raison Detre believes that our activities would be a

power to change by offering our support for NPO

focusing on humanitarian programs, diseases cure,

psychological support for patient with cancers and

their family, medical research for cancers, and pov-

erty issue.

Regardless of social status, political and religious

affiliations, Raison Detre hope that each one of us on

this planet will find their own “Raison

Detre” (reason to be) and eventually respect each

other with compassion.

medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to

people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and

Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of neu-

A worldwide movement

MSF was founded in Paris, France in 1971. Its principles are de-

scribed in the organisation's founding charter. It is a non-profit, self-

governed organisation. Today, MSF is a worldwide movement of

21 sections, 24 associations and various other offices. They are bound

together by MSF International, based in Geneva, Switzerland, which

provides coordination, information and support to the MSF Movement.

Thousands of health professionals, logistical and administrative staff

– most of whom are hired locally – work on programmes in some 69

countries worldwide.

Humanitarian action

MSF's work is based on humanitarian principles. We are committed to

bringing quality medical care to people caught in crisis, regardless of

race, religion or political affiliation.

MSF operates independently. We conduct our own evaluations on the

ground to determine people’s needs. More than 90 per cent of our

overall funding comes from millions of private sources, not govern-

ments.

MSF is neutral. We do not take sides in armed conflicts, we provide

care on the basis of need, and we push for independent access to

victims of conflict as required under international humanitarian law.

Bearing witness and speaking out

MSF medical teams often witness violence and neglect in the course of
