In the last decade, the immense developments in mobile radio electronics have, among others, strongly pushed forward the integration of electronic circuits at microwave and millimeterwave frequencies. Today, we have available mobile radio ICs with capabilities and degrees of integration which have been unthinkable some years ago.

The present talk will give an overview of current RFIC/MMIC research, Ultrawide-band indoor localization systems, robust systems for operation in harsh environments, and sensor systems for industruial, scientific and applications will be discussed.
