Global confectionary company reduces energy costs with Advantix SystemsThe Thailand Cadbury Adams plant formerly used a desiccant wheel dehumidifying technology to treat its chewing
gum production hall. The company wanted to reduce its high consumption/costs as of an EnergySaving Project initiative for the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency in The Ministry of Energy Government of Thailand. The former desiccant wheel equipment was replaced bya DuTreat unit combined with the existing air handling unit. Key Results: 60% reduction in energy consumption, maintaining indoor conditions of 20 ± 1°C, 45 ± 5% R.H., with initial investment11% lower than a desiccant wheel.
German meat processing plant cuts energy consumption by 43% with Advantix SystemsThe new wing in the German meat plant contains a washing and cleaning system creatinga high level of humidity. This resulted is hazardous, unhealthy and uncomfortable working conditions as well as corrosion to equipment, causing repeated maintenance issues. A conventional air-conditioning system would have required to cool the air to about3°C then reheating to 16°C. Instead, the plant chose the Advantix application and to install sixDuHandling units combined with a post-treatment air handling unit (AHU).
The Advantix Systems units dehumidify the space, preventing growth of mold and mildew and maintain the required conditions of 22°C, 50% R.H. Energy consumption is 43% less than would be required by a conventional system.
Canadian poultry processing to improve indoor working conditionsA leading Canadian consumer packaged food company was challenged by harsh indoor workingconditions with high temperature and humidity of 35°C, 70-80% R.H., due to extensive washing in the meat processing hall. When the plant installed a DuTreat unit for 100% return air, the desired conditions of 20°C, 55% R.H. wereachieved with an average moisture removal of 10.37 Lit./h.
German sausage casings producer to maintain dry & clean environmentThe German manufacturer produces artificial sausage casings for scalded, smoked, boiled and steamed meat. During the summer time, temperature in the plant rise to around 30°C. Since casings are washed with hot water higher than
95°C, humidity in the production room reaches 85%, causing accumulation of mold and mildew. The plant installed a DuTreat unit outdoors and circulating the production hall air through theunit (Return Air application). The Advantix Systems unit maintains indoor conditions of 22°C, 50% R.H., preventing mold and mildew growth allowing high performance production.
Major US frozen foods producer provides safe working environmentThe plant producing buttered and breaded products has a frozen dock at -20°C for raw material storage and afinished products cooling room at 5°C, 70% R.H. The temperature difference caused icicle to form in passage between rooms and the high humidity in the drywarehouse with 24°C, 80% R.H. damaged the cardboard packages. A DuTreat unit was installed to treat return air in the frozen dock achieving 5°C, 40% R.H. A second DuTreat unit was installed to treat the dry warehouse area to 20°C, 50% R.H. resulting in a dry and safe working environment.
Child nutrition leader achieves challenging design conditions with Advantix Systems in Thai plantThe Mead Johnson new Thailand plant required design conditions of 20-25°C and twodifferent humidity ranges of 25-30% and 45-50% R.H. A DuTreat unit was installed as a fresh air unit to comply with both humidity ranges. A second DuTreat unit was used for re-circulated air for the low R.H. range only.Both units provide the desired design conditions leaving customer highly satisfied.
