    Subway

There are two major subway lines in the city. One runs east and west under Bloor Street and Danforth Avenue; the other forms a horseshoe that goesdown Yonge Street to Union station and then up Spadina Avenue, past theUniversity of Toronto, and almost all the way to York University.

    Bus

Bus routes cover the entire Greater Toronto Area (GTA), making it easy toreach major attractions and other destinations.

    Streetcar

The streetcars run mainly east-west, south of Bloor Street. They are asentimental favourite for many Torontonians and are part of the history of thecity. Many of these routes run 24 hours a day, which makes streetcars a veryconvenient option.

    Other options

    Accommodation

All of LSI Toronto's accommodations are carefully selected to ensure that theymeet our quality standards.

    Homestay Programme

The majority of students who attend LSI Toronto choose to live with Canadianhost families during their stay. The greatest advantage of a Homestayexperience is the opportunity to communicate and interact with Canadiansoutside the classroom.

Our hosts provide a comfortable private room, completely furnished with allthe amenities of a home. We generally offer our students the half-boardprogram, which includes breakfast and an evening meal. Details about our other accommodation options (residence, dormitory or hotel) are availableupon request.

Host families live within a 30 to 55-minute commute by public transportation toLSI Toronto. Our Homestay Coordinator carefully selects every host family toensure that the student's stay will be comfortable and enjoyable and that our

students will be made to feel at home and safe.

Our families homes range in size from condominiums to larger homes.

Canadians are friendly andrelaxed and will treat a newcomer almost as a family member, sostudents should not be surprised if their host encourages them to jointhem in the kitchen to prepare atypical dish from your country or "help yourself" to breakfast, rather than being served.

Most hosts will involve students inmenu selection, and some hosts areable to accommodate special dietaryrequirements.

This is a wonderful chance to learnabout life in Canada and certainlythe best way to get settled in a newcity.
