Subject: Implementation of NISHTHA online for Elementary School Teachers working in Autonomous Bodies under Ministry of Education and Ministry of Defence, GoI- reg.

Madam/Sir,

With reference to the letter on the subject cited above, it is to inform that NCERT has launched the NISHTHA (National Initiative for School Heads' and Teachers' Holistic Advancement) programme through DIKSHA portal for providing training to all teachers teaching classes l to 8 across the country. The programme consists of 18 courses starting from 16111 October 2020 till January 2021. Details of the course schedule are attached as annexure-1. Courses for teachers will be launched sequentially and conducted in batches in DIKSHA. Each course requires a minimum 3- 4 hours of engagement by the learners where there will be flexibility for teachers to complete the course in a self-paced manner. A teacher needs to do self-enrolment and do self-learning and will be certified on course completion.

It is mandatory that all teachers teaching classes 1 to 8 have to register and complete all the 18 courses irrespective of the subject she/he is teaching as NEP 2020 envisages an integrated and holistic approach for teaching-learning. Thus, you are requested to communicate the same to all teachers teaching classes 1-8 ie all PRTs (including PRT music), HMs, TGTs (including TGT WE/AE/P&HE/Lib) and PGTs teaching classes 6-8 if any. As the course has 05 modules for school leaders, Principals/ Vice Principals if interested can also join the course.

Courses will be opened on day 1 of the fortnight and will be closed during the day 15th of the fortnight. All teachers will have to devote a minimum 2 hrs to complete one course and around 6 hours to complete 3 courses each fortnight. In addition to this they also need to spare around 1 to 2 hrs per module for interaction with SRGs or watching live interaction on DTH channel or listening through Community Radio, etc.

Every week (Monday) a report to be shared on nishtha.kvshq@gmail.com that consists of: • No. of teachers enrolled in the course in that week • Percentage of teachers enrolled out of target base in that week. • No. of teachers completed the course in that week.

For this every ZIET will nominate two technical coordinators who will disseminate and collect information of the teachers from all the feeder regions on every Saturday and mail it on the above Email ID on Monday morning so that the same can be sent to NCERT on every Monday. Accordingly, all regional offices should also nominate two technical coordinators who will disseminate and collect information of the teachers enrolled to the corresponding ZIETs on every Saturday. All ZIETs and ROs will create a designated mail for NISHTHA as above (Roles and responsibilities of technical coordinators are attached as annexure-2). The

Roles and Responsibilities of Technical Coordinator

The technical coordinators to ensure that: a. Course information has reached every single teacher.

b. Teacher has done self-enrolment in the courses as per the calendar and following the instructions given in the user manual completes the course.

c. Sharing reminders and short posts on the courses frequently in the instant messenger groups/ email groups or any other communication existing/ created in these organisations for the NISHTHA

programme. ct. If there is any technical issue reported by participants try to solve it or escalate to national technical

coordinator through support mail ID.

e. Ensure the completion of all courses ( 18 courses) by all the elementary teachers.

f. At the end of every month, prepare a report covering the following data: 1. Total teacher enrolled course wise and also in each course district wise. ii. Number of teachers received certificate course wise. iii. Progress of teachers (upto 30%, 30% - 50%, 50% - 80 %, above 80%) course wise. iv. Scores of teachers in the quiz (upto 30%, 30% - 50%, 50% - 80 %, above 80%) course wise.

g. Detailed instruction manual for coordinator attached (annexure-4).

6. Access all the course materials and learn. Do all the activities yourself and save it in google drive to submit it at the end of all 18 courses. Three courses should be completed between Oct 16-31, 2020.

7. On completion, download your certificate from your profile within 10-15 days.

8. In a similar manner, complete all the 18 courses within the given timeline.
