GENERAL OPERATIONAL PRECAUTIONS

1. Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas and benchesinvite accidents.

2. Avoid dangerous environment. Don’t expose powertools and charger to rain. Don’t use power toolsand charger in damp or wet locations. And keepwork area well lit.Never use power tools and charger near flammableor explosive materials.Do not use tool and charger in presence offlammable liquids or gases.

3. The appliance is not intended for use by youngchildren or infirm persons without supervision.Young children should be supervised to ensure thatthey do not play with the appliance. All visitorsshould be kept safe distance from work area.

4. Store idle tools and charger. When not in use, toolsand charger should be stored in dry, high or locked-up place — out of reach or children. Store toolsand charger in a place in which the temperatureis less than 40°C.

5. Don’t abuse cord. Never carry charger by cord oryank it to disconnect from receptacle. Keep cordfrom heat, oil and sharp edges.

6. When the charger is not in use or when beingmaintained and inspected, disconnect the powercord of the charger from the receptacle.

7. To avoid danger, always use only the specifiedcharger.

8. Use only genuine HITACHI replacement parts.9. Do not use power tools and charger for applications

other than those specified in the HandlingInstructions.

10. To avoid personal injury, use only the accessoriesor attachment recommended in these handlinginstructions or in the HITACHI catalog.

11. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replacedby the manufacture or its service agent or a similarlyqualified person in order to avoid a hazard.Let only the authorized service center do the repairing.The Manufacture will not be responsible for anydamages or injuries caused by repair by theunauthorized persons or by mishandling of the tool.

12. To ensure the designed operational integrity ofpower tools and charger, do not remove installedcovers or screws.

13. Always use the charger at the voltage specified onthe nameplate.

14. Always charge the battery before use.15. Never use a battery other than that specified. Do

not connect a usual dry cell, a rechargeable batteryother than that specified or a car battery to thepower tool.

16. Do not use a transformer containing a booster.17. Do not charge the battery from an engine electric

generator or DC power supply.18. Always charge indoors. Because the charger and

battery heat slightly during charging, charge thebattery in a place not exposed to direct sunlight;where the humidity is low and the ventilation isgood.

19. Use the exploded assembly drawing on this handlinginstructions only for authorized servicing.

PRECAUTIONS FOR CHARGER

1. Always charge the battery at a temperature of 0– 40°C. Charging the battery at temperatures outsidethe range of 0 – 40°C may prevent proper chargingand reduce battery life.The most suitable temperature for charging is thatof 20 – 25°C.

2. Do not use the charger continuously.When one charging is completed, leave the chargerfor about 15 minutes before the next charging ofbattery.

3. Do not allow foreign matter to enter the hole forconnecting the rechargeable battery.

4. Never disassemble the rechargeable battery orcharger.

5. Never short-circuit the rechargeable battery.Short-circuiting the battery will cause a great electriccurrent and overheat. It results in burn or damageto the battery.

6. Do not dispose of the battery in fire.If the battery is burnt, it may explode.

7. Using an exhausted battery will damage the charger.8. Bring the battery to the shop from which it was

purchased as soon as the post-charging battery lifebecomes too short for practical use. Do not disposeof the exhausted battery.

9. Do not insert objects into the air ventilation slotsof the charger.Inserting metal objects or flammable into the chargerair ventilation slots will result in an electrical shockhazard or damage to the charger.

(2) Regarding the temperature of the rechargeablebatteryThe temperatures for rechargeable batteries are asshown in the Table 2, and batteries that have becomehot should be cooled for a while before beingrecharged.

When inserting a battery in the charger, the pilotlamp will light up continuously in red.When the battery becomes fully recharged, the pilotlamp will blink in red (At 1-second intervals).(See Table 1)

(1) Pilot lamp indicationThe indications of the pilot lamp will be as shownin Table 1, according to the condition of the chargeror the rechargeable battery.

NOTE

Be sure to pull out the battery from the chargerafter use, and then keep it.

Regarding electric discharge in case of new batteries,etc.

As the internal chemical substance of new batteriesand batteries that have not been used for anextended period is not activated, the electricdischarge might be low when using them the firstand second time. This is a temporary phenomenon,and normal time required for recharging will berestored by recharging the batteries 2-3 times.

How to make the batteries perform longer.

(1) Recharge the batteries before they becomecompletely exhausted.When you feel that the power of the tool becomesweaker, stop using the tool and recharge its battery.If you continue to use the tool and exhaust theelectric current, the battery may be damaged andits life will become shorter.

(2) Avoid recharging at high temperatures.A rechargeable battery will be hot immediately afteruse. If such a battery is recharged immediately afteruse, its internal chemical substance will deteriorate,and the battery life will be shortened. Leave thebattery and recharge it after it has cooled for a while.

CHARGING

Before using the power tool, charge the battery asfollows.1. Connect the charger’s power cord to the receptacle.

When connecting the plug of the charger to areceptacle, the pilot lamp will blink in red(At 1-second intervals).

2. Insert the battery into the charger.

Firmly insert the battery into the charger till itcontacts the bottom of the charger as shown inFig. 1.

CAUTION

� If the battery is charged while it is heated becauseit has been left for a long time in a location subjectto direct sunlight or because the battery has justbeen used, the pilot lamp of the charger lights for1 second, does not light for 0.5 seconds (off for0.5 seconds). In such a case, first let the batterycool, then start charging.

� When the pilot lamp flickers (at 0.2-second intervals),check for and take out any foreign objects in thecharger’s battery connector. If there are no foreignobjects, it is probable that the battery or chargeris malfunctioning. Take it to your authorized ServiceCenter.

� Since the built-in micro computer takes about 3seconds to confirm that the battery being chargedwith UC10SFL is taken out, wait for a minimum of3 seconds before reinserting it to continue charging.If the battery is reinserted within 3 seconds, thebattery may not be properly charged.

MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION

1. Inspecting the mounting screwsRegularly inspect all mounting screws and ensurethat they are properly tightened. Should any of thescrews be loose, retighten them immediately. Failureto do so could result in serious hazard.

2. Cleaning of the charger

When the charger is stained, wipe with a soft drycloth or a cloth moistened with soapy water. Donot use chloric solvents, gasoline or paint thinner,for they melt plastics.

3. Store idle charger

When not in use, the charger should be stored indry, high or locked-up place — out of reach ofchildren.

4. Service parts listCAUTION

Repair, modification and inspection of Hitachi PowerTools must be carried out by a Hitachi AuthorizedService Center.This Parts List will be helpful if presented with thetool to the Hitachi Authorized Service Center whenrequesting repair or other maintenance.In the operation and maintenance of power tools,the safety regulations and standards prescribed ineach country must be observed.

PRECAUCIONES PARA EL CARGADOR

1. Siempre cargar la batería a una temperaturacomprendida 0 – 40°C. Si se carga la batería atemperaturas fuera del rango de 0 – 40°C tal vezla carga no se realice correctamente y se reduzcaal vida de la batería.La temperatura más apropiada para cargar es la de20 – 25°C.

2. No usar el cargador continuamente.Cuando se completa la carga, dejar descansar elcargador por 15 minutos antes de proseguir conla carga siguiente.

3. No dejar que entre suciedad por el orificio deconexión de la batería recargable.

4. Nunca desarmar la batería recargable ni el cargador.5. Nunca poner en cortocircuito la batería recargable.

Al poner en cortocircuito la batería puede produciruna corriente eléctrica y enorme y por consecuenciaun recalentamiento, pudiendo quemar o deteriorarla batería.

6. No tirar la batería al fuego.Si se quema la batería puede explotar.

7. El uso de una batería descargada dañará el cargador.8. Llevar la batería al sitio de compra original en el

caso de que la duración de la batería recargablesea reducida al usarse. No tirar la batería descargada.

9. No insertar objetos en las ranuras de ventilacióndel cargador.La inserción de objetos metálicos o inflamables endichas ranuras puede provocar descargas eléctricaso dañar el cargador.

APLICACION

Para carga de batería Hitachi BCL1015.

CARGA

Antes de usar la herramienta eléctrica, cargar la bateríadel modo siguiente:1. Enchufe el cable de alimentación del cargador a un

tomacorriente de CA.

Cuando haya conectado el enchufe del cargador auna toma de la red, el piloto parpadeará en rojo(A intervalos de 1 segundo).

2. Inserte la batería en el cargador

Inserte firmemente la batería en el cargador hastaque entre en contacto con la parte inferior delmismo tal y como se muestra en la Fig. 1.

3. Carga

Cuando inserte una batería en el cargador, el pilotopermanecerá continuamente encendido en rojo.Cuando la batería se haya cargado completamente,el piloto parpadeará en rojo (A intervalos de 1segundo). (Vea las Tabla 1)

(2) Evite realizar la recarga a altas temperaturasUna batería se calentará inmediatamente despuésde haberla utilizado. Si recargase tal bateríainmediatamente después de haberla utilizado, susubstancia química interna se deterioraría, y laduración útil de la batería se acortaría. Deje labatería y recárguela después de que se haya enfriadodurante cierto tiempo.

PRECAUCION� Si carga la batería mientras esté caliente por haber

estado mucho tiempo en un lugar sometido a laluz solar directa, o por haber acabado de utilizarla,la lámpara de piloto del cargador parpadea durante1 segundo y no se enciende durante 0,5 segundos(apagada durante 0,5 segundos). En tales casos,deje primero que se enfríe la batería e inicie luegola carga.

� Cuando la lámpara piloto destelle (a intervalos de0,2 segundos), realice una comprobación y extraigalos objetos extraños de la batería del cargador. Sino hay ningún objeto extraño, es posible que labatería o el cargador funcione mal. Llévelos a unagente de servicio técnico autorizado.

� Como el microprocesador incorporado tarda 3segundos en confirmar que la batería que estabacargándose con el UC10SFL se ha estraído, espere3 segundos como mínimo antes de reinsertarla paracontinuar cargando.Si reinserta la batería antes de 3 segundos, esposible que no se carge adecuadamente.

MANTENIMIENTO E INSPECCION

1. Inspeccionar los tornillos de montaje

Regularmente inspeccionar todos los tornillos demontaje y asequrarse de que estén apretadosfirmemente. Si cualquier tornillo estuviese suelto,volver a apretarlo inmediatamente. El no hacer estoprovocaría un riesgo serio.

2. Limpieza del cargador

Cuando no use el cargador, guardarlo en un lugarseco, alto o cerrado, fuera del alcance de los niños.

4. Lista de repuestos

PRECAUCIÓNLa reparación, modificación e inspección de lasherramientas eléctricas Hitachi deben ser realizadaspor un Centro de Servicio Autorizado de Hitachi.Esta lista de repuestos será de utilidad si espresentada junto con la herramienta al Centro deServicio Autorizado de Hitachi, para solicitar lareparación o cualquier otro tipo de mantenimiento.En el manejo y el mantenimiento de las herramientaseléctricas, se deberán observar las normas yreglamentos vigentes en cada país.

새 배터리의 방전

새 배터리, 혹은 오랫동안 사용하지 않은 배터리의 내부 화학 현상에 따라 처음 한 두번 성능이 떨어질 수 있습니다. 이것은 일시적인 현상이며 2~3회 재충전 하시면 회복됩니다.

배터리 수명을 길게 하려면

(1) 배터리가 완전히 소모되기 전에 재충전 하십시오. 공구의 파워가 약해 졌다고 느끼면 사용을 멈추고 재충전 하십시오. 계속해서 사용할 경우 배터리가 망가지거나 수명이 짧아질 수 있습니다.

(2) 고온에서의 재충전은 피하십시오. 재충전 배터리는 사용 즉 후 뜨거워집니다. 이 상태에서

재충전으로 하면 내부 화학 물질이 망가지고 수명이 짧아집니다. 배터리를 식힌 후 재충전 하십시오.

경고○ 배터리를 장시간 햇빛에 노출 시키거나 장시간 사용에

의해 과열된 상태에서 충전하는 경우, 충전기의 파일럿 램프는 1초 동안 켜졌다가 0.5초 동안 꺼집니다(0.5초 동안 꺼져 있음). 이 경우, 배터리를 식힌 후 충전하십시오.

○ 파일롯 램프의 빨간불이 깜박이면 (0.2초 간격) 배터리 커넥터에 이물질이 없는지 체크 후 제거해 주십시오. 이물질이 없는 경우, 배터리나 충전기의 오작동입니다. 공인 서비스 센터에 문의 하십시오.

○ 내장 마이크로 컴퓨터가 UC10SFL에서 배터리가 충전이 완료된 것을 확인하는데 3초가 걸립니다. 연속적으로 충전할 때 재 삽입 전 최소 3초 기다려 주십시오. 배터리가 3초 이내 재 삽입 되면 배터리는 제 로 충전되지 않은 것입니다.

유지보수 및 검사

1. 스크류 검사 정기적으로 모든 스크류가 잘 조여져 있는지 검사하고
