1.2 Work Included

.1 The work of this Section includes the provision of all labour, materials, equipment and services required tofabricate and install granite countertops, as indicated on the drawings, as specified herein and as requiredfor a complete project.

1.3 Related Work

.2 Section 09380 - Granite Floor and Wall Tile.

1.4 Reference Standards

.1 American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM):.1 ASTM C615-03, Standard Specification for Granite Dimension Stone.

.2 National Building Granite Quarries Association (NBGQA):.1 NBGQA Specifications for Architectural Granite, latest edition.

1.5 Submittals

.1 General: Submit each item in this Article according to the Conditions of the Contract and the applicableDivision 01 Specification Sections.

.2 Shop Drawings:.1 Submit drawings for each granite countertop. Show in detail sizes, profiles, configurations and

dimensions, the arrangement of joints, and other pertinent details..2 Indicate clearly, in detail, the provisions for the anchoring and the countertops..3 Coordinate the countertop sizes and configurations with Section 06410 "Cabinetwork".

.3 Samples: Submit a minimum 300 mm x 300 mm sample of the granite in the specified finish. The acceptedsample will be the standard of acceptance for the stone countertops for the project.

.4 Maintenance Data:.1 Provide maintenance data for granite finish for incorporation into the operation and maintenance

manual specified in Section 01780 "Closeout Submittals".

.1 Coordinate delivery of countertops with the installation of the cabinetwork specified in Section 06410 tominimize handling and storage on site.

.2 Provide protective packaging to prevent damage.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

2.1 Granite

.1 Granite building stone to ASTM C615 conforming to The National Building Granite Quarries Association's(NBGQA) "Specifications for Architectural Granite". Colour to match the Consultant's sample. Finish:Polished.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 Installation

.1 Coordinate with Section 06410 "Cabinetwork" and install the countertops on the cabinets in accordancewith the reviewed and accepted shop drawings.

.2 Install level and in true alignment and fasten securely in place.

3.2 Protection

.1 Protect the countertops from damage. Leave protection in place until Substantial Performance of theContract.

3.3 Cleaning

.1 Upon completion of the installation remove from the premises all surplus material, dirt and debris causedby the work of this Section and leave the installation clean,

.2 Make good any damage caused by the work of this Section.
