Although bands from Hungary, Latvia, and other Eastern European countries have performed at WASBE Conferences, this is the first opportunity to experience in depth the wind band culture of Hungary and to learn about the wind band/ensemble music of its neighbouring countries. On behalf of WASBE, I wish to thank the Local Organisation for making this Conference here in Debrecen possible. Together with WASBE, the Local Organisation has developed an engrossing program of concerts, lectures, master classes, and workshops. I wish all participants a wonderful Conference and an enjoyable stay in this beautiful city of Debrecen. With kind regards, Bert Aalders WASBE President
