The award winning `Gower Explorer` is more than a bus service. Its a green travelnetwork linking Swansea and one of Wales most magnificent Areas of OutstandingNatural Beauty. Bus routes and walking trails lead into and through countryside andcoastline of incomparable beauty and in addition there are numerous sites of

archaeological interest, medieval castles and churches.The bus services in this booklet cover all the principal beaches and attractions onGower. On Sundays some journeys on Services 118 and 119 can be used as a relaxingscenic circular tour providing an ideal introduction to the UKs oldest Area ofOutstanding Natural Beauty.

Gower Voluntary Transport For disabled and elderly housebound people

Gower Voluntary Transport has been set up to provide transport for local disabled and elderly peoplewho are isolated in their homes because they cant get on or off buses or walk to a bus stop.We have a team of volunteer drivers to provide lifts to doctors surgeries, visiting friends in hospital,collecting pensions or just to go to the shops - any journey which a resident of Gower could not

make any other way.To travel with Gower Voluntary Transport you must be unable to travel by bus and you must not havea car of your own. Passengers must either be retired or of restricted mobility if below retirement age.Passengers can live anywhere within the Gower area and can travel with an able bodied relative orfriend as an escort, if you need one. As long as a driver is available, destination is not restricted.Residents can book a lift by telephoning the co-ordinator and stating when and to where they wish totravel. The co-ordinator will normally be there; at other times there is an answerphone. Please give 48hours notice - we will make every effort to help, but cannot guarantee always to be available.Cars are available five days a week between 9.00am and 5.00pm.
