뉴스킨 코리아(대표 유병석)는 노화에 관한 뉴스킨만의 독창적인 접근법 ‘에이지락

(ageLOC®) 테크놀로지’를 근간으로 하는 프리미엄 안티-에이징 라인 ‘에이지락

(ageLOC®)’을 선보였다.

2009년 하반기 미국을 시작으로 전세계 시장에 출시되었으며, 한국에서도 2010년 1월

18일 선판매를 시작으로 4월 본격 출시했다.

외국에 비해 광고 규제 및 심의가 강한 국내에서 효과적인 제품 홍보를 위해, 에이지락

출시를 알리는 미국의 ‘뉴스킨 콘벤션(2009년 10월)’으로 한국의 주요 매체 기자들을 대

동한 미디어투어를 진행했다. 그로 인한 기사 보도로 소비자들에게 제품의 우수성과 효

능에 대해 정확하고 구체적으로 전달할 수 있었으며, 국내 소비자들의 관심을 증대시키

는 계기가 되었다. 이후에도 지속적으로 연구진 인터뷰, 월간지 애드버토리얼 등의 언

론홍보를 전개해왔다.

그 결과 선판매를 실시한 2주 동안 66,000키트(kit)를 판매, 270억원의 매출을 달성했으

며, 이후 월 매출 목표를 뛰어 넘는 성과를 보이고 있다.

뉴스킨은 그동안 항(抗)노화 관련 연구 분야에서 권위 있는 ‘라이프젠 테크놀로지’와 연

구 협약을 체결하고 노화와 관련된 독자적인 연구를 한 결과, ‘에이지락(ageLOC®) 테

크놀로지’의 근간이 된 ‘유쓰 진 클러스터(Youth Gene Cluster, YGC)’를 발견했다. 인

간 유전자 2만여 개 중 피부에 영향을 미치는 일부 유전자군(群)들이 노화의 결과 나타

나는 다양한 신체 외부적 현상들과 관련이 있다는 사실을 알아낼 수 있었다.

즉, ‘에이지락(ageLOC®) 테크놀로지’는 유쓰 진 클러스터(Youth Gene Cluster, YGC)’의 발견으로 노화의 원인과 관련한 특정 유전자를 타깃으로 하는 보다 혁신적인 안티-에이징 기술이라고 할 수 있다.
