Dear Colleagues,
The ISoQOL- Asian Chinese Chapter, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Society for Quality of Life
(HKSoQOL), and the University of Hong Kong would like to invite you to the “2010 Asian Chinese
Quality of Life Conference” on 17 to 19 December, 2010 in Hong Kong. The theme of this
conference is “Quality of Life (QOL) – the Outcome for All”.
The scientific programme will focus on four main areas: QOL measures and related research
methodology, QOL assessment in clinical applications, application of QOL assessment in Chinese
medicine, QOL research in rehabilitation and social services.
We have invited Prof. John WARE to be our keynote speaker. Several renowned experts in QOL
research including Ms. Mona MARTIN and Mr. Donald McKnight BUSHNELL from USA, and Prof.
Ji-qian FANG and Prof. Cindy LAM from China will share up-to-date knowledge from various
perspectives in the plenary sessions.
Besides, there will be a range of concurrent symposia to suit the needs of participants from
different disciplines. The themes of the symposium include: QoL measures, interpretation of QoL
findings, clinical applications in a range of specialties including cancer and chronic Illness,
oncology and palliative care, psycho-oncology, traditional Chinese Medicine, nursing, dementia,
and mental health services.
The several past QoL symposia and conferences held in Hong Kong or Mainland China were well
attended. The scientific content has advanced in breath and depth throughout the years. We
believe this conference will be another very successful intellectual exchange that will help your
clinical and academic work in the promotion of quality of life of your clients.
We welcome all people from Asian and other parts of the world who are interested in QOL research
on Chinese populations to join this conference. Please mark your dairy for the conference now and
remember to submit your abstracts and register for the conference according to the important
