About UsAdventure Boot Camp is an outdoor fitness programme that focuses on
motivation, team work and fun to create positive physical changes for women
of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels.
A “camp” is four weeks long – one hour of exercise per day.
Camps run from Monday to Friday and take place before or after work.
Ladies can choose to attend three or five days per week.
All classes take place outdoors, in beautiful, invigorating environments.
Exercises include circuits, skipping rope, mat work, core conditioning,
cardio, hikes, team games, weights and much more.
No two days are alike and campers never get bored, ensuring they stick to
the full programme and achieve great results.
Teamwork is the keyword in these camps and everyone encourages each
other to do their best.
We cater to women of all fitness levels and everyone trains at their own
pace.
Adventure Boot Camp started with a mere 30 ladies in September 2005 at
Kirstenbosch Gardens, Cape Town. This camp still maintains its success
today, as do the other 100 camps across SA. From Polokwane to George and
everywhere in between, we now have an average of 3000 campers a month!
We sign on additional franchisees twice a year and are continuously growing
year on year.
Our camps are strategically located in all the major
suburbs of the following cities:
Cape Town · Durban · George · Johannesburg
Nelspruit · Paarl · Pretoria · Polokwane · PE ·
Potchefstroom · Stellenbosch · Somerset West
Camp FactsWhile Adventure Boot Camp keeps on
growing, the feel of each individual camp
remains familiar and small. In essence they
become communities of like-minded women
who, with the absence of music, interact with
each other and their trainers far more than at
an ordinary gym. It’s no surprise that word of
mouth is by far ABC’s most successful
marketing tool!
AttendanceEach camp has a maximum of 45 ladies.
There are currently 100 camps running nationwide.
Currently 3 000 women do ABC at one time, with numbers
growing steadily.
On average, 30 000 women do ABC annually.
Each camp runs for four weeks and there are 10 camps
per calendar year.

I am not a fitness-freak but I am aware
of the importance of health and
exercise.
I look for convenience and because I
work long hours, I don’t want to think
when I get to gym, I want to be told
what to do.
I love ABC because it’s outdoors, it’s
personal and it has a social element – I
could go to a personal trainer but I
want to wind down from the day, talk to
other like-minded women who
understand my lifestyle and get fit at
the same time.
I first started ABC because it wasn’t a
lifetime commitment but soon
discovered that it suited my goals and
lifestyle perfectly and I have now
adopted it as my exercise routine.
Initially, I wasn’t loyal to many health
and wellness brands but as my body
changed, I looked for brands to
compliment my new-found lifestyle.
I look up to my trainer – I value the fact
that she motivates me everyday. I trust
her, and value her input.
Camper Profile - Who am I? Female, on average 35 years old, but I can range from 17- 60.
Busy, educated, working mother.

1st Day of CampOn the first day of camp, all our ladies get an
envelope containing marketing material /
discounts from our sponsors. Between 3 000 -
3 500 envelopes are distributed every camp
and as a sponsor, you would have access to
these envelopes.
Camper FeedbackEvery month we send all our campers feedback questionnaires
regarding their thoughts on our sponsors. This is sent to you at the end
of every camp and has proven to be very insightful.
“ABC’s of Camp” MailerAll campers receive an info mail at the start of camp, covering valuable
information such as camp location and trainer details. Your logo, website and
a description of your brand as well as any camper offers are included.
ABC TrainersCampers relate to them, value and trust their input and therefore emulate them
when it comes to fitness and the brands that they associate with. All trainers
countrywide wear the ABC Trainer T which includes our sponsor logos. Trainers are
also educated on all our sponsors and therefore act as your brand ambassador at
camp!
Additional OpportunitiesBranding opportunities are endless and can be tailored according to your needs.
Additional options include: Measuring tapes, stop watches, trainer lanyards, camp
beacons, etc.
Campers also receive prizes at the end of camp for the Fastest Runner, Most
Spirited and Toughest Cookie. These hampers are made up of various products
from our sponsors e.g. wristbands, caps, etc. Hampers can be named after the
Sponsor e.g. The Women’s Health Hamper etc. A total of 170 hampers are
handed out annually and you have the opportunity to provide prizes for one of
these awards should you be interested.
SignatureAll emails sent from Head Office and our franchisees include your logo.
with a hyperlink through to the Sponsor Page on our website.
The ABC NewsletterWe send a weekly newsletter to approximately 6 000 past and present ABC
campers in Cape Town and a national newsletter once per camp to
approximately 18 500 campers outside of Cape Town. These include general
information about our camps as well as upcoming weekend events, recipes,
etc. As a sponsor, your logo is displayed at the bottom of every newsletter with
a link to the Sponsor Page. We also have space to feature you in one
newsletter per camp for which you would provide us with content.
ABC Website All ABC communication drives campers to our website. Registrations,
queries, etc are all done online and this translates into an impressive
monthly average of 2 million hits, 20 000 unique visitors and six page
views per visitor, making it one of the biggest websites in its category in
SA! Your logo, a description of your brand and a hyperlink to your site
appears on the Sponsor Page. Your logo also appears at the bottom of
every page on the ABC website. Should you have a Facebook page, a
link to this page will also be included in the Facebook section of our
website.
Online BannersDue to our favourable website stats, we successfully launched online
banners on our website in 2011. Banners receive an average of 48 000
impressions every month and as a sponsor you are entitled to
advertising space. Banners are available on the Home Page, Register
Page and Camper Zone - the three most visited pages on our website.
Social MediaOur new national Facebook and Twitter pages, which launched in May 2011, are
growing exponentially! Facebook currently has 2290 members and we have 170
people following us on Twitter. On Facebook, a description of your brand and a
link to your website is included on a tab dedicated to our sponsors. We also
include ad- hoc status updates and tweets which mention our sponsors, and
should you have a Facebook Page, we will add a link to it on our page.
Marketing materialPart of our marketing strategy includes the distribution and placement of various
marketing materials which include all our sponsor logos. We distribute our marketing
material through events and trade shows, residential and institution drops, magazine
inserts and at camps and ABC events.
Brochures, Free Passes & Buddy Passes520 000 brochures are distributed nationally within residential areas, schools,
events and trade shows.
46 000 buddy passes are distributed at camp every year. The buddy pass allows
campers to bring a friend to camp for a day and it has proven to be one of our
best sources of referrals.
The 115 000 free passes work on the same premise as the buddy pass but are
given to non buddies at events and races.
Certificates10 000 certificates are distributed annually
to campers who have completed a camp.
These are then proudly displayed at home
and work and have served as a great ABC
conversation starter.
Posters1 300 posters are distributed
nationally within restaurants,
schools, sports institutions and
malls.
Poster Certificate Buddy Pass
Advertising and PRWe enjoy a considerable amount of exposure via newspapers, television, web, radio
and print media. With a dedicated team focused on PR, we have a continuous stream
of media presence at our camps and encourage media to participate in them.
In the first six months of 2011, ABC received PR to the value of R11 Million and
because all communication drives readers to our website, this translates into PR for
your brand. Trainers wear the ABC Trainer T, which includes sponsors’ logos, when
media take photos / film at camp.
Our strategy also includes advertising in newspapers, magazines and websites. All
full page ads include your logo and in 2011, we placed numerous ads in Fitness,
Women’s Health and Jump Magazines, as well as many local community papers.
EventsWe participate in numerous events during the year and always try to include our
sponsors. We also ensure that trainers / promo girls are wearing their ABC T’s which
include our sponsors’ logos. Some of the events we have participated in during 2011 are:
Blisters For Bread
The Baba Indaba
Discovery Big Walk
Look & Feel Good Expo
Spar Ladies Race
Wedding Expo
Total Sports Ladies Race
The Women Show
Look & Feel Good Expo
