1. Duration of the study tour:

Eight weeks, six weeks, or four weeks

Others A half-day trip and a one-day trip. Course contents: ���� Small Group Classes: - 2 hours per day, five days a week. Classes have 6 to 10 people. - Taught by professional and experienced teachers of CSL. - Main textbook: Practical Audio-Visual Chinese. - Hanyu pinyin Romanization and traditional characters are used as the

principal written codes of instruction. - Students come from over 50 nationalities. ���� Optional Courses - 3 sessions per week, 1 or 2 hours per session. - Cultural Classes offered Calligraphy,

Chinese Painting, Taichi, Chinese Knotting（中國結）.

���� Cultural Excursions - Tour of Tainan’s Historic Sites ���� Language Exchange: We can arrange one-on-one language exchange with

students of National Cheng Kung University on request. It is charge of $150 NTD per hour.

���� Trips: One weekend day-trip. A tour of the beautiful Taiwanese countryside.

Assessment guideline

Final Grade = Class Work 70% + Final Exam 30%

� Class Work 70% includes:

- Periodic tests and quizzes 20%

- Homework results 20%

- Class participation 20%

- Attendance 10%

4. Detailed fee structure: All tuition and fees are payable in New Taiwanese Dollars only. For the purposes of this brochure we are using the current (at time of printing) exchange rate of roughly NT$:US$≒30:1. NOTE: All costs are return and is calculated on a minimum of ten students in the group. , per person; however, detailed costs are one-way per person. The cost of a staff member to meet the group at the airport is shared amongst the group and included in the total cost.

A. From Taoyuan International Airport to Tainan:

A.1. Taiwan High Speed Rail (HSR): $3,090NTD ( Return, approx. $103USD)

The last train to Tainan from Taoyuan HSR Station leaves at 22:16, so

only groups arriving into Taipei-Taoyuan by 20:30 will be able to

travel by HSR. Using an HSR transfer, it takes roughly three (3)

hours to travel to Tainan City.

I. Accommodation Fee There is a limited amount of rooms in our on-campus school dormitory. We cannot

guarantee you a room. Students will be informed whether or not they get a room

15 days before the class starts.

2. The dorms also include: Common room (with TV, Payphones), drinks machine, washing machine and dryer.

B. Accommodation off campus (single room):

~ Eight weeks: $13,400 NTD (approx. $446.7 U$D)

i. Fees: $5,400 NTD (approx. $180 U$D) per month.

ii. Estimate electric utilizes: $800NTD (approx. $26.7USD) per month. Extra utilizes will cost you extra $5NTD/ $0.17 USD per kilowatt-hour. Cooking is not allowed inside the rooms.

iii. Facilities: A bed, a bathroom, a desk, a chair, a wardrobe, a fridge and TV. Internet connection is available in rooms and it is free of charge. Bring your own computer.

iv. Basic bedding: $1,000 NTD (approx. $33.3 US$).

For more information of the facilities for the off-campus dorm (Nundo Studio No. 2),

please visit their website at: http://nckh.ezdn.cc/ It takes about 15 minutes by foot from

the language center to the dorm.

II. Three Meals:

The language center does not provide meals for students. Food can be found easily and cheaply at the restaurant on the campus or around the university. For each meal, students should allow a minimum of about $2 USD
