düşük hassaslık seviyesi ile başlayınız, dedektöre aşina oldukça tam hassaslığa yükseltiniz. !

2) İç mekanlarda kullanmayınız. Bu dedektör sadece açık havada kullanım içindir. Birçok ev aleti dedektörle parazit yapabilecek elektromanyetik enerji yaymaktadır. Eğer içeride bir tanıtım gösterisi yapıyorsanız, hassasslık seviyesini düşürünüz ve tespit başlığını bilgisayar, televizyon ve mikro dalga fırın gibi ev aletlerinden uzak tutunuz. ELİMİNASYON Bir metalin “elimine" olmasına yapılan referans, belirli bir obje, başlığın tespit alanından geçerken dedektörün belirli bir ses çıkartmayacağı veya bir gösterge ışığının yanmayacağı anlamına gelmektedir. !

AYIRMA Dedektör farklı metal tipleri için farklı tonlar çıkarıyorsa ve dedektör belirli metalleri “elimine ediyorsa”, biz buna dedektör farklı metal tipleri arasında “ayırma” yapıyor deriz. Ayırma profesyonel metal dedektörlerinin önemli bir özelliğidir. Ayırma, kullanıcının çöpü ve diğer istenmeyen objeleri yok sayabilmesini sağlar. !

KALINTI Kalıntı, yaşından veya geçmiş ile olan ilişkisinden dolayı ilgi duyulan bir objedir. Birçok kalıntı değersiz metalden yapılmıştır, ancak bronz veya değerli metallerden de yapılabilir. !

DEĞERSİZ METAL!! Değersiz metal, belirli metal tespit uygulamalarında istenmeyen hedef olan düşük nitelikli bir metaldir. İstenmeyen değersiz metal objelere örnek olarak eski teneke kutular, borular, cıvatalar ve çiviler verilebilir. Bazen, istenilen hedef değersiz metalden yapılmış olur. MONTAJ Discovery 1100 Metal Dedektörünün montaj kolaydır ve hiçbir alet gerektirmez. Sadece aşağıdaki adımları takip ediniz: 1 1 . Tespit yaptığınızda tespit başlığın topraktan 1 inç yukarıda kalmasını sağlayınız. !4. Tespit başlığı kablosunu kolun etrafına sarınız. Düzensiz toprakta ava çıktığınızda başlığı ayarlamanızı sağlayacak şekilde kabloda mesafe bırakınız. Sonra tespit başlığının ucundan topuzu sıkınız. Not: Başlığı ayarlamak için, basitçe topuzu gevşetiniz. !!5. Fişi dedektörün gövdesinin sağ alt yüz tarafında bulunan

ASSEMBLYAssembling your Discovery 1100 Metal Detector iseasy and requires no tools. Just follow these steps:

●1 Using the supplied bolt and knurled knob,attach the searchcoil to the lower stem.

●2 Press the button on the upper end ofthe lower stem and slide thelower stem into the upperstem.

●3 Adjust the stem to alength that lets youmaintain a comfort-able upright posture,with your arm relaxed at yourside. Maintain the searchcoilabout 1 inch above theground as you sweep.

●4 Wind the searchcoil cablearound the stem. Leaveenough slack in the cable to let you adjust the coil when youare hunting on uneven ground. Then tighten the knob at theend of the searchcoil.

Note: To adjust the coil, simply loosen the knob.

●5 Insert the coil’s plug intothe matching connector onthe control housing. Besure the holes and pinsline up correctly.

Caution: Do not force theplug in. Excessforce will causedamage.To disconnect thecable, pull on theplug. Do not pullon the cable.

Adjusting the ArmrestMost people will find the standard position ofthe armrest very comfortable. Very largeforearms and short forearms (particularlychildren’s arms), can be accommodated bymoving the armrest forward.

The armrest may be moved forward orbackwards by removing the single screwand nut, and then repositioning the 2-piecearmrest. Users with shorter arms may findthe armrest more comfortable in theforward position. In order to move thearmrest backwards, the plastic plug must beremoved from the aluminum tube.

Use ALKALINEbatteries only.

To install thebatteries:

●1 Remove thebattery cover bydisengaging theclip at the back.

●2 Align the polarityof the batteriescorrectly, withthe positive "+"toward the coilplug connection,as indicated bythe + and –indicators on thehousing.

●3 Insert (2) 9-Volt ALKALINE batteries, with the contacts pointed inward,and press down on the back of the batteries to snap them into place.

Some brands of batteries will require moderate force to clear theretaining tabs.

●4 Replace the battery door.

Most metal detector problems are due to improperly installedbatteries, or the use of non-alkaline or discharged batteries. If thedetector does not turn on, please check the batteries.

AUDIO TARGET IDENTIFICATIONWhile the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is very accurate in identifyingburied objects, the user in the field does not always maintain the displayscreen in his field of vision. Therefore, we have incorporated an audiofeedback mechanism to alert the user to the nature of buried objects.This audio feedback system first alerts the user to the presence andclassification of objects, whose nature and location can be confirmedusing the LCD display.

The detector will sound three different tones. These three tonescorrespond to the three target categories depicted on the LCD display.

LOW TONEFerrous objects, such as iron and steel, will induce a low tone.Small gold objects can also induce a low tone.

MEDIUM TONEPull-tabs, newer pennies (post-1982), larger gold objects, zinc,small brass objects, and most bottle screw caps will inducemedium tones. Many recent vintage foreign currencies willinduce medium tones, including loonies & toonies.

HIGH TONESilver and copper coins, larger brass objects, older pennies (pre-1982), and highly oxidized metals will induce high tones.Quarters, dimes and other precious coins fall into this category.

Audio Target Identification (ATI) classifies metals into three categories.

If your detectorbeeps erratically when the searchcoil is motionless, the unit is probablydetecting another magnetic field.

Common sources of EMI are electric power lines, both suspended andburied, motors, and household appliances like computers andmicrowave ovens. Some indoor electronic devices, such as dimmerswitches used on household lighting, produce severe EMI and will causethe detector to beep erratically. Other metal detectors also produce theirown electromagnetic fields, so if detecting with a friend, keep two metaldetectors at least 20 feet apart.

If the detector beeps erratically, REDUCE THE SENSITIVITY by pressingthe Down-Sensitivity Arrow ▼ on the left of the control panel.

SEVERE GROUND CONDITIONSA secondary use for the Sensitivity Control is to reduce false detectionsignals caused by severe ground conditions. While your Discovery 1100contains circuitry to eliminate the signals caused by most naturallyoccurring ground minerals, 100% of all ground conditions cannot beanticipated. Highly magnetic soils found in mountainous and gold-prospecting locations can cause the detector to emit tones when metalobjects are not present. High saline content soils and sands can alsocause the detector to false.

If the detector emits false, non-repeatable, signals, REDUCE THE SENSITIVITY.

MULTIPLE TARGETSIf you suspect thepresence of deeper targetsbeneath a shallower target,reduce the sensitivity toeliminate the detection ofthe deeper targets, in orderto properly locate andidentify the shallowertarget.

SENSITIVITYThe detector’s default sensitivity will be indicated with two segments.At this setting, the detector will detect a coin-sized object, such as aquarter, buried approximately seven inches deep. To change thesensitivity level, and thus the detection depth, press the SENSITIVITY▲ or ▼ keys.

Swing the searchcoil slowly,overlapping each sweep as youmove forward. It is important tosweep the coil at a consistent speedover the ground as you search. Afteridentifying a target, your sweeptechnique can help in identifying boththe location and the nature of thetarget. If you encounter a weaksignal, try moving the coil in short,rapid sweeps over the target zone;such a short rapid sweep mayprovide a more consistent targetidentification.

Most worthwhile objects willrespond with a repeatable tone. Ifthe signal does not repeat aftersweeping the coil directly over thesuspected target a few times, it ismore than likely trash metal.

Crossing the target zone withmultiple intersecting sweeps atmultiple angles is another way toverify the repeatability of the signal,and the potential of the buried target.To use this method, walk around thetarget area in a circle, sweeping thecoil across the target repeatedly,every 30 to 40 degrees of the circle,about ten different angles as youwalk completely around the target. Ifa high-tone target completelydisappears from detection at a givenangle, chances are that you aredetecting oxidized ferrous metals,

rather than a silver or copper object.If the tone changes at differentangles, you may have encounteredmultiple objects. If you are new tothe hobby, you may want to dig alltargets at first. With practice in thefield, you will learn to better discernthe nature of buried objects by thenature of the detector’s response.

You may encounter some falsesignals as you proceed. False signalsoccur when the detector beeps, butno metal target is present. Falsesignals can be induced byelectromagnetic interference,oxidation, or highly mineralizedground soils. You may encounter some falsesignals as you proceed. Falsesignals occur when the detectorbeeps, but no metal target ispresent. False signals can beinduced by electromagneticinterference, oxidation, orhighly mineralized groundsoils.
