DIRECTIONS TO SHOW GROUNDS: Bainbridge Island Saddle Club 7650 NE Day Road , Bainbridge Island, WA 98110 From Highway 3 north or south take the Highway 305 exit to Poulsbo. Follow Highway 305 through Poulsbo and over the Agate Pass Bridge onto Bainbridge Island. The first light you come to will be Day Road; take a right and when the road forks immediately stay straight, continuing on Day Rd west. After 1/4 mile down the hill you will see a sign on the right for Manzanita Park; turn into the drive and after 1/4 mile take the right into the Saddle Club UN-LESS you have a large (>3 horse) trailer in which case you will park in the meadow on the left. Kitsap Saddle Club 1470 Kitsap Saddle Club Road, Port Orchard, WA 98367 From SR 16, take the Sedgwick exit and go east. Turn left at Long Lake Road and follow it around to Mile Hill Road. At the light, turn left, and then a quick right onto Kitsap Saddle Club Road. Fol-low the road until you see the club on the right. Chalice Farms 9390 Orchard Ave SE, Port Orchard, WA 98367 From Hwy 16, north or south, take the Mullenix exit and head east on Mullenix Ave. for approximately 3.5 miles. Turn right at Orchard Ave SE (T-intersection), and travel south. My driveway is 7th on the right. Turn wide into my driveway to avoid the ditch, and follow the driveway to the end. ** DO NOT FOLLOW GPS DIRECTIONS, as it will try to have you access the farm from Hooligan Rd, where we do not have access and no turn around for horse trailers.

General Information and Rules 1. Entries ONLY at EQEntries.com (link available from LPSDC website www.LPSDC.com) Need help? Contact Christine Erikson @ [email protected] 2a. No post entries except to fill cancellation on day of show. 2b. Full refunds will be given if Show secretary is notified before closing date of show. Class fee refunds will be given only if a veterinarian or doctor’s certificate is presented to the Show Secretary on or before the day of the show. (see non-refundable fees)Scratches will only be filled at the show grounds, the day of the show and at the discretion of the Show Secretary or Show Manager. 3a. The management reserves the right to combine or cancel classes. 3b. If rider is entered in class #18 Intro A Supervised no cross entry to any other classes allowed. 4. The JUDGE’S decision in all classes will be final. 5. Entries must appear at the IN gate properly tacked, displaying the correct number, and checked in with the Ring Steward ONE MINUTE prior to their assigned ride times. Show management will not be responsible for locating riders for their classes. No leg wraps or splint boots allowed. All USDF Equipment rules apply, except the rule regarding saddle pads; logos ARE permitted. 6. The dress code for LPSDC Schooling shows consist of informal show attire. Effective April 1, 2013: It is mandatory to wear protective headgear at LPSDC clinics, schooling shows and any riding event hosted by LPSDC. The only exception is per FEI rules, which apply only at FEI Licensed Shows. From the time horses are admitted to the event grounds, anyone mounted on a horse at any time must wear protective headgear as defined by the USEF Rule DR120 and otherwise in compli-ance with USEF Rule GR801. Protective headgear is defined as a riding helmet which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. The harness must be secured and properly fitted. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place. 8. Tests will be ridden in the earthen outdoor arenas. Covered warm-up arena is available at Chalice Farms. Footing on all arenas is dirt/sand mix. Only horse/rider is permitted in the warm up arenas. All tests will be ridden in a 20 x 60 meter arena. 9. Lunging only allowed in the venue’s designated area, IF one is made available. 10. Horses must be held to the walk at all times except in the dressage arena or warm-up area. No riding double. 11. Do not tie horses to fences, rails, stalls or trees. Stallions must be attended to at all times. 12. Management reserves the right to remove any horses deemed unruly or unsafe. 13. No alcoholic beverages or controlled substances are allowed on the show grounds. Failure to comply will result in forfeiture of entry fees and excusal from the grounds.

13. It is the competitor’s responsibility to verify the accuracy of all scores. Scoring errors must be reported to the Show Manager within two hours after the receipt of test. Failure to report an error within the two hour time limit means the error will stand and there will be no change to class placing. 14. Exhibitors are cautioned against the use of any medical preparations and tonics of any kind in which the ingredients and quantitative analysis are unknown as many of these contain forbidden substances. 15. Ride times will be posted after 7:00 p.m. on the Wednesday before the show on Foxvillage.com. 16. First aid kit on grounds. Ambulance service call 911. 17. Small children must be carefully supervised to prevent unfortunate accidents. 18. No dogs are allowed on the show grounds. Exceptions are service dogs and possible residential dogs that may be on premises per owners discretion and responsibility. Others will be asked to leave. 19. When competitors are in the arena, and out of courtesy to the judges and riders, it is requested that loud conversations and noise be curtailed. 20. Musical Freestyle riders should have their music on a CD and bring to the Show Office as they check in. It is the rider’s responsibility to pick up their CD before they leave the showgrounds. LPSDC will not mail left CD’s.

Don’t forget that to qualify for LSPDC Year end awards, you must have com-

pleted 6 hours of volunteer time during the show season.

LOWER PUGET SOUND YEAR END AWARDS

LPSDC has a year-end awards program for its members. Our Schooling shows and other approved shows count. They are determined by the criteria listed here. We offer awards in Junior, Adult Amateur, and Open Divisions for each level except for

Musical Freestyle and Western Dressage where Divisions are combined.

AWARDS:

• Introductory Level through FEI Level, Musical Freestyle & Western Dressage. - Placing First through Eighth:

• High Point JUNIOR, ADULT AMATEUR and OPEN rider (Training Level through FEI Levels excl. Intro, Musical Freestyle and Eventing tests)

• High Point Western Dressage

• High Point Musical Freestyle (sponsored by Cynthia Collins/Luna Tunes Freestyles) CRITERIA:

• All LPSDC shows count towards awards.

• Must have ridden at a minimum of 3 (three) shows sponsored by the Lower Puget Sound to qualify.

• Scores from approved Bainbridge Island Saddle Club Shows may qualify towards Year End Awards if you have ridden in at least 3 (THREE) Lower Puget Sound Dressage Club shows.

• Must be same horse and rider combination.

• The rider must be a LPSDC member in good standing at the time of the ride. NOTE! It is the responsibility of the MEMBER to verify that membership is current. LPSDC DOES NOT keep track of that during show season. Contact LPSDC.

• Must have scores from at least three (3) tests of the same level (all tests in level apply) from at least three (3) different judges.

• The three (3) highest scores are averaged, but must be from three different shows and (3) three different judges.

• To receive any award, rider must volunteer, at a minimum, 6 hours at LPSDC shows during season. In the case of a professional trainer , paid to ride a horse, the owner of the horse may fulfill the six (6) volunteer hours requirement (in part or in full) in lieu of the rider. NOTE: Both the professional trainer & owner must be members of LPSDC.

• High Point is determined by taking the three (3) highest scores, from three (3) different judges from any test at one level, then dividing them to find the highest average. (It is not determined by the horse/rider with the highest score. Eventing classes are excluded from the High Point Award).

Additional Awards: Gene Dueber Award – This award was established in 2012 in memory of Gene Dueber (1916-2012) who was a founding member of LPSDC. This award is voted on by our members. The pur-pose is to recognize an individual who, under adverse circumstances or situations, displays a positive and supportive outlook toward fellow competitors and show management, and to an individual demonstrating good sportsmanship throughout the year.

Volunteer of the Year Award – This award is voted on by our members and will go to an indi-vidual who has gone above and beyond in their efforts for the club. The Volunteer of the Year need not be a club member.

Educational & Training Scholarships 2020

The Vicki Mears AA Educational and Training Scholarship is a fund awarded annually to Adult Amateurs (Applicant must be 21 years of age or OLDER as of January 1st of the scholarship year) who have a desire to further their partnership with their horse, and to create educational opportunities for the horse and rider pair in the dressage discipline. Award will be $250 and divided amongst selected recipients.

The LPSDC Youth Educational & Training Scholarship is a fund awarded annually to Youth (Under 18 years of age as of 1/1/2020) who have a desire to further their partnership with their horse, and to create educational opportunities for the horse and rider pair in the dressage discipline. Award will be $250 and divided amongst selected recipients. The Open Rider Educational and Training Scholarship is a fund awarded annually to an Open Rider/Trainer who has a desire to further their partnership with their horse, expand their experience as a trainer and to enhance their capability as a teacher of other dressage riders. Award will be $250 and divided amongst selected recipients.

Applications are to be evaluated by a LPSDC panel of peers using a preset criteria. The judges will be

familiar with dressage, but not necessarily a competitor, rider, or Instructor. A judge cannot be a relative of

the applicant or involved with the applicant as an instructor or coach. The recipient/s will be awarded a

check prior to the competition season beginning in May, 2020.

Releasor desires to engage in equine activities sponsored by or in which Releasor will be us-ing equipment, facilities, and/or premises furnished by, Releasee. Releasor understands there are inherent dangerous risks of serious injury or death in equine activities, and as a condition of participation in equine activities, Releasor (individually and for his/her heirs, executors, assigns, invitees, and minor children) waives the right to bring, and releases Releasee and Releasee’s administrators, agents, officers, directors, employees, predecessors and successors-in-interest, and any other persons or entities united in interest with Releasee from any and all manner of actions, suits, claims for relief, demands, and any other obligations, known and unknown, suspected and unsuspected, in law or equity, direct or indirect, and whether now or in the future, for any injury, loss, or death arising out of or connected in any way with riding, training, driving, boarding, grooming, or riding as a passenger upon an equine. If for any rea-son any provision of this release is determined to be invalid, the remainder shall continue in full force and effect. This release contains the entire agreement between the parties hereto and the terms of this release are contractual, not a mere recital.
