Welcome Message
CSIA 2020 is an international conference dedicated to promoting novel
theoretical and applied research advances in the interdisciplinary agenda of cyber
security, particularly focusing on threat intelligence and analytics and countering
cybercrime. Cyber security experts, including those in data analytics, incident
response and digital forensics, need to be able to rapidly detect, analyze and
defend against a diverse range of cyber threats in near real-time conditions. For
example, when a significant amount of data is collected from or generated by
different security monitoring solutions, intelligent and next generation big-data
analytical techniques are necessary to mine, interpret and extract knowledge of
these (big) data. Cyber threat intelligence and analytics are among the fastest
growing interdisciplinary fields of research bringing together researchers from
different fields such as digital forensics, political and security studies, criminology,
cyber security, big data analytics, machine learning, etc. to detect, contain and
mitigate advanced persistent threats and fight against organized cybercrimes.
The 2020 International Conference on Cyber Security Intelligence and Analytics
(CSIA 2020), building on the previous successes in Wuhu, China (2019) is proud
to be in the 2nd consecutive conference year.
We are organizing the 2020 CSIA conference at Haikou organized by Hainan
University, China. It will feature a technical program of refereed papers selected
by the international program committee, keynote address.

The Internet of Things and Edge Computing - Overview,
Open Issues and Case Studies
Professor Tharam Dillon
La Trobe University, Australia, IEEE Life Fellow
Professor Tharam S. Dillon has published more than 1000 papers in international conferences
and journals, ten authored books and six edited books. His work has over 16,000 citations
and an H-Index of 57 (Google Scholar). Professor Dillon research includes Trust, Risk,
Advanced Analytics and Data Mining, Neural Networks, Big Data, Web semantics, XML
systems, Ontologies, Cloud computing, hybrid Neuro-symbolic systems, Internet of Things,
software engineering and power systems computation. He is a Life Fellow of the IEEE (USA).
Prof. Dillon is a Fellow of ACS and IEAust. He has held Full Professor positions at La Trobe
University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Curtin University. He was the Dean of the
Faculty of IT at University of Technology Sydney. He was chair of the Working Groups IFIP
12.7 on Computational Intelligence, IFIP 2.12/12.4 on Web Semantics, the Technical
Committees IEEE /IES on Industrial Informatics and IFIP TC12 on Artificial Intelligence. He is
the General Chair of the On The Move Conferences (OTM) since 2010. He has been invited
to give over 57 keynotes at international conferences. He is an Adjunct Professor at La Trobe
University, Australia.
Mobile crowd sensing of human-like intelligence using
social sensors: A survey
Professor Zheng Xu
Shanghai University, China
Zheng Xu was born in Shanghai, China. He received the Ph.D. degrees from the School of
Computing Engineering and Science, Shanghai University, Shanghai, in 2012. He is currently
the associate professor in Shanghai University, China. His current research interests include
wireless communications, CPS, and mobile crowd sensing with over 1,800 citations (H-index
23). He has authored or co-authored more than 90 publications including IEEE Trans. On
Fuzzy Systems, IEEE Trans. On Automation Science and Engineering, IEEE Trans. On Emerging
Topics in Computing, IEEE Trans. on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems, IEEE Trans. On
Cloud Computing, IEEE Trans. on Big Data etc. He is also the associate editor of IEEE Access
journal, Springer ECR journal, and TSI AutoSoft journal. The paper titled “Ensemble-based
multi-filter feature selection method for DDoS detection in cloud computing” obtained
EURASIP Best paper awards 2019.

Professor Jun Ye
Hainan University, China
Jun Ye received his B.S. degree in Applied Mathematics at Chongqing University. M.S. degree
in Cryptography at Guilin University of Electronic Technology. He is a Lecturer at the School
of Science, Sichuan University of Science & Engineering until the year 2018. He is also a
doctoral at the Xidian University. Now he is the associate professor at the School of Software,
Hainan University. His current research interests include cryptography and information
security.

Professor Shulei Wu
Hainan Normal University, China
Shulei Wu was born in 1974. She is a professor at the College of Information Science and
Technology, Hainan Normal University. She received her doctoral degree of information and
communication engineering from Hainan University. She received her Master Degree of
application of computer technology from Chongqing University. She received her Bachelor
Degree of Radiophysics from Sichuan University. Her research interests include image
processing, remote sensing image analysis, video retrieval and artificial intelligence.
Oral Presentation Instruction
1.Timing: a maximum of 10 minutes total, including speaking time and discussion. Please
make sure your presentation is well timed. Please keep in mind that the program is full and
that the speaker after you would like their allocated time available to them.
2 You can use CD or USB flash drive (memory stick), make sure you scanned viruses in your
own computer. Each speaker is required to meet her/his session chair in the corresponding
session rooms 10 minutes before the session starts and copy the slide file(PPT or PDF) to the
computer.
3 It is suggested that you email a copy of your presentation to your personal inbox as a
backup. If for some reason the files can’t be accessed from your flash drive, you will be able
to download them to the computer from your email.
4 Please note that each session room will be equipped with a LCD projector, screen, point
device, microphone, and a laptop with general presentation software such as Microsoft
PowerPoint and Adobe Reader. Please make sure that your files are compatible and readable
with our operation system by using commonly used fronts and symbols. If you plan to use
your own computer, please try the connection and make sure it works before your
presentation.
5 Movies: If your PowerPoint files contain movies please make sure that they are well
formatted and connected to the main files.
Short paper Presentation Instruction
1. Maximum poster size is 0.8 meter wide by 1 meter high.
2. Posters are required to be condensed and attractive. The characters should be large
enough so that they are visible from 1 meter apart.
3. Please note that during your short paper session, the author should stay by your short
paper to explain and discuss your paper with visiting delegates.
Registration
For the registration information, each regular paper author needs pay 200 USD or 1400 RMB
including one banquet and 2 lunch buffets in the hotel. For the short paper, (paper length is
lower than 6 pages) authors need pay 100 USD or 700 RMB (no banquet and buffet). The

Brief Introduction for Hainan University
Hainan University is a comprehensive key university formed by a merger with the former
South China University of Tropical Agriculture in August 2007. It is jointly administered by the
Ministry of Education and the Hainan Provincial People's Government.
The university has made great achievements by adhering to the motto of "openness and
inclusiveness" and the spirit of "self-improvement, dedication, kindness and perseverance". In
December 2008, it was approved by the state as a key university under the 211 Project. In
2012, it was included in the Plan of Strengthening Higher Education in Middle and Western
China and was successively supported by the National Basic Ability Construction Project of
Western and Central China and the National Comprehensive Strength Enhancement Project
of Western and Central China. In 2017, HNU was listed in the national plan for establishing
world-class disciplines. In 2018, the Hainan provincial Party Committee and provincial
government made a strategic decision to fully sponsor the development of Hainan University.
Also in that year, the university came under the joint administration of the Ministry of
Education and the Hainan Provincial People's Government, and was included among
universities directly administered by the Ministry of Education.
Since its founding, HNU has hosted visits by generations of state leaders, from the founding
members such as Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, Dong Biwu, Ye Jianying, Deng Xiaoping, Hu Yaobang,
and Wang Zhen to their successors such as Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao, Li Peng, Zhu Rongji, Wen
Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Zeng Qinghong, Li Lanqing, Wei Jianxing, and Liu Yandong. All provincial
Party Committee and government leaders have shown great care and support for its
development. It has also received donations from the public, including Chinese overseas
which have assisted with construction of office and teaching buildings, libraries, academic
centers, stadiums, student activity centers and other aspects of campus construction.
Scholarships and grants set up with the contributions have also facilitated the university's
development.
Hainan University's 31 schools now host over 38,000 full-time students, including over 33,000
undergraduates, 4,300 master's students, 300 doctoral students, and 400 international
students. Its full-time faculty members number more than 2,000, and include 1,200 teachers
with senior professional titles and 860 teachers with doctoral degrees. HNU has been joined
by high-level talents such as jointly-appointed academicians, Changjiang Scholars,
outstanding youth, and leading talents of the Ten Thousand Talents Program.
Based on the principle of seeking all-round development with highlighted projects, the
university focuses on four areas: the tropics, oceans, tourism and special economic zone. It
has formed a comprehensive teaching and research system in philosophy, economics, law,
art, literature, science, medicine, agriculture, industry, and management. Among them,
tropical agriculture (based on crop science), cultural tourism (based on law), and the South
China Sea marine resources utilization (based on information and communication
engineering), are listed as world-class disciplines. The university hosts 3 national key
disciplines, 12 provincial key disciplines, 2 post-doctoral R&D bases, 10 first-level discipline
doctoral programs, 32 first-level discipline master programs, 17 professional master's degree
programs, and 94 undergraduate programs. There are 2 national key laboratories (including
1 cultivation base), 16 national teaching quality engineering projects, 1 national experimental
teaching demonstration center, 12 provincial and ministerial key laboratories, 3 provincial
collaborative innovation centers, 4 provincial and ministerial engineering research centers, 5
provincial academician workstations, and 3 provincial philosophy and social science key
research bases. HNU is also supported by 2 national teaching teams, 8 national key programs,
2 national excellent courses, and 2 national advanced collectives of professional and technical
personnel. In addition, it offers 1 national bilingual teaching demonstration course.
The university adopts a strategy of openness in education and has established all-round,
multi-level and extensive exchanges and cooperation. It has cooperated with 170 overseas
universities, international research institutes and university alliances from 35 countries and
regions. In recognition of this, HNU was selected by the Ministry of Education as a member
of the second group of demonstration bases for studying in China, with a complete higher-
education system from bachelor's to doctoral degrees for international students. In 2017, in
collaboration with Arizona State University, the university established the HNU-ASU Joint
International Tourism College.
Over the past decades, the university has graduated nearly 300,000 alumni, who now play
management and technical roles in major industries at home and abroad.
As the province is to deepen reform and opening up in an all-round way and implement the
strategy of developing the Hainan Pilot Free Trade Zone and Free Trade Port with Chinese
Characteristics, HNU embraces new opportunities. Seated at the forefront of the South China
Sea, it is the only double-first-class university in Hainan Province and in China's tropical region
and is uniquely jointly administered by the Ministry of Education and the provincial
government.
