Combination of words, Harp & Day, the name Harpyday embodies the ensemble’s mission to show all spectrum of the harp to its audience. In 2002, Harpyday Ensemble won the prestigious Kumho Young Artist Audition, the only chamber music group to win the audition. Harpyday Ensemble was also invited to perform at the World Harp Congress in Geneva(2002) and the Hong Kong Harp Festival many times. Since then, Harpyday Ensemble has played in all the major performance halls in Korea with exciting versatile programs and series such as <Christmas Fantasy>, <Christmas Dream> at Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall, IBK Chamber Hall, Sejong Cultural Center, Samsung Concert Hall, LG Art Center, Lotte Concert Hall, Kumho Art Hall, KBS Hall, Hoam Art Center and Buchon Cultural Center Concert Hall, etc. Appearing in many TV & Radio concerts, Harpyday Ensemble has performed with many leading artists and orchestras. Harpyday Ensemble was invited to the Seoul Arts Center’s “Classic Star Series” along with Korea’s top classical artists. In 2016, Harpyday Ensemble made an outstanding U.S. Debut to sold-out audience at Carnegie Hall. In 2017, Harpyday Ensemble toured all over Italy at “USA & Alba Music Festival”. Harpyday Ensemble was one of the leading classical artist for the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics. Just recently in April of 2019, Harpyday Ensemble successfully finished the ‘US Concert Tour’. Harpyday Ensemble was invited by the world renown “USA International Harp Competition” for Chicago, Indianapolis, and Bloomington. And for full house at New York Lincoln Center, was invited by Si-Yo Music Foundation. In 2013, Harpyday Ensemble registered as an official performance corporation designated by the government - a first in the world for a harp ensemble. Harpyday Ensemble plans not only to perform actively, but organize Korea Harp Festival to promote harp to the general public. It also plans to discover and manage young future harp stars throughout the world, and organize Korea International Harp Competition. The group will hold charity concerts and provide harp education scholarships for disabled and low-income students. Harpyday Ensemble is also the ambassador for Green Umbrella Childrens' Foundation. With founding member and leader, Sun Young Bang, Harpyday Ensemble members include Yoon Mi Ji(Executive Director), Yae Song Jee, Se Young Hwang, and Se Hee Hwang, Harpyday Ensemble members are Korea’s top competition & audition winners and international competition winners. The competition aims to discover and promote new talents from around the world. The competition also aims to help young musicians become a world class harpists by providing a stage for them to congregate and share their passion for harp and music. The competition’s goal is to bring together harpists from around the world in celebration. And this time, the 5th Korea Harp Festival will be held along with the Korea International Harp Competition. ③ Free choice piece not to exceed 15 minutes

- Contestants in Junior Division may choose between Pedal and Non-Pedal Harps. - Contestants in Youth and Young Professional Division are allowed to use only Pedal Harp.- No nationality restrictions on applicants.- Participation in multiple divisions is possible as long as the requirements are satisfied.- Registration fee is non-refundable.- Age requirement will be calculated based only on year of birth, not the actual date.- All repertoires must be performed by memory with no repeats.- Contestant can decide on the order of the pieces to perform.- Free choice piece must be performed within time restriction.- 5 copies of free choice piece must be provided.- Free choice piece must be submitted by February 15, 2020 and cannot be changed thereafter.- All performances can be recorded(audio & visual) and will be sole property of the organizer.- Order of performance will be determined randomly by the organizer.- You may use your own instrument.- Contestants who miss the given performance time will be marked as forfeit.- Jurors’ decisions are final.
