Peranan komputer dan internet dalam pendidikan

Dalam beberapa kajian yang telah dijalankan (Funkhouser, 1993; Henderson and Landersman, 1992; Chazan, 1988; Mc Coy, 1991; Al Ghamdi, 1987) didapati bahawa:

Pelajar yang menggunakan komputer mempunyai sikap yang lebihpositif terhadap dirinya dan berkeupayaan menyelesaikan masalahyang lebih kompleks.

Perisian komputer yang digunakan dalam proses pengajaran akandapat membantu pelajar memahami sesuatu konsep dan prinsipdengan mudah dan berkesan.

Pencapaian pelajar dalam peperiksaan akhir menunjukkan peningkatanyang ketara.

Kumpulan yang belajar berbantukan komputer mempunyaikemampuan mengekalkan maklumat dalam jangka masa yang lebihlama dan dapat menggunakannya dalam bidang-bidang lain.


Integrasi internet dalam pendidikan

Internet hanya akan bertindak sebagai sumber dan alat bantu dalam P&P.

Aktiviti pembelajaran hendaklah dirancang dengan teliti oleh guru supaya internet dapat digunakan dengan berkesan.



Komputer dan internet tidak mengubah peranan guru.

Guru perlu sentiasa berusaha untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemahiran mereka khususnya dalam bidang IT.

Ketrampilan dan keperibadian yang mulia akan tetap menjadi tunjang dan ikutan utama.



Penggunaan komputer dan internet dapat mengurangkan beban tugas guru dan murid di samping setiap kerja dapat dilakukan dengan kemas, teratur dan sistematik.



Internet amat bermanfaat kepada guru dan murid serta ibubapa khususnya dalam menghadapi cabaran IT dan era globalisasi.

Industri berasaskan maklumat yang akan mencorakkan kehidupan pada masa hadapan.

Perlu diberi perhatian sewajarnya oleh setiap ahli masyarakat, khususnya warga pendidik dan para ibubapa.

Contoh Aktiviti guru : E-mail

Berkomunikasi secara dalaman dan luaran sesama guru, ibu-bapa, pelajar, dan pihak jabatan serta kementerian.

Mendapatkan khidmat nasihat pakar dan bantuan teknikal.

Berkongsi dan bertukar pendapat berhubung dengan proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran ; teknik pengajaran terbaik, idea kreatif dan inovatif, latihan dan penilaian, bahan bantu mengajar dan sebagainya.

Menghubungi agensi pusat dan swasta serta institusi pendidikan lain mengenai sesuatu program dan polisi yang di gunakan khususnya dalam menyelesaikan sesuatu masalah yang timbul.


Contoh Aktiviti Pelajar: E-mail

Berkongsi menjalankan sesuatu projek dengan pelajar di sekolah-sekolah lain.

Berbincang dengan rakan dari kalangan berbagai budaya dan latar belakang negara mengenai berbagai isu semasa.

Mengalakkan perkembangan bahasa terutama bahasa Inggeris melalui komunikasi dengan rakan pena di luar negara.

Memperolehi bahan dan teknik di dalam menyelesaikan sesuatu masalah pelajaran secara "on-line".
