On June 29, 2000, South Dakota Network, LLC (SDN) filed for approval by the Pubtic Utilities Camrnissiol.~ (Commission) its 1999 Intrastate Switched Access Cost Study at'rb tariff revisions effective August I, 2000.
On July 6, 2000, the Comrnisc;ion electronically transmitted notice of thefil~ng and Il"t entervention deadline of July 21, 2000, to interested individuals and entities. On August 9; 2000, the Commission voted to assess a filing fee as requested by the Executive: Drr'ector up to the statutory limit of $100,Q00. Staff filed a memorandum on August 3f, 2t")(9(1, which was corrected on September 7, 2000, with the concurrence of the company, BEfffi~~g Forth a recommended revenue requirement that would establish a local switching rate af $Q.QQ83. The Commission considered this matter at its November 30, 2000, meating. The matter was deferred at that time. The 'Commission again considered this rvaritar at its December 12, 2000, meeting.
The Commission has jurisdiction over this matter pursuant to SDCL 1 -26-'I 7.1, 49- ls11-43, 49-31 -12.4, 49-31 -12.6, 49-31-18, 49-31-19 and ARSU 29:40:01:75.02, 20 1 U:01.15.05, 20: 4 0:27:07 and 20: 10:27:08. Upon review of SON'S filings, the Csmn~issiun found that the revenue requirement was fair and reasanable and the! associated tariff sheets shouicl be approved. As the Commission's final b@cisicm in this matlei" it is tl~erefore
ORDERED that SDN's local switching rate of $0.0083 is hereby approved and shall b@ eflfective for telecommunications services rendered on and after January 7, 2001.
