WHAT is an A3?
An A3 is a one-page report that includes all information
needed for :
make a decision on a stated PROPOSAL or PROBLEM, or
to communicate the STATUS of, or plans for, a specific goal

THEME OF A3 • It evolved to become the standard
format for problem-solving, proposals,
plans, and status reviews.
•What is important is not the format,
but the process and thinking behind it,

which anyone can understand.

A3 Problem Solving
Purpose: Solve a complex problem in the organization that, when resolved, will improve flow, quality and overall performance, structure effective and
efficient dialogue to foster understanding followed by agreement.
A3 Problem Solving report is an overview of the problem-solving
