1.Connection Using Grasshopper as a starting point, the task was to design a intervention for an iconic building, in this case Toyo Itos Tama art library. The sinous curves of the intervention were designed to complement the curves of the dominant arch shape on the facade and interior of the building. The coding used in grasshopper created an infinitely recurring design generator, based off several different types of circular shapes as a base point, The code was then run until a design was found that best fit in with the overall design ideals of the Tama art library.

2.Re Mix

the idea behind my proposal was to highlight the connections that exist between art and finance, connections that at first glance don't seem apparent. the gradual 'tightening' of the building as it flows from the art sector to the finance sector highlights the common underlying tension that is ubiquitous in both art and finance, this flow is also evident in the circulation pattern of the building, as visitors are only allowed to move from art to finance or vice-versa. if they want to experience the entire building. the patterning on the facade also highlights their respective commonality. even though the patterning reverses as it goes from art to finance, it shares the base common elements. the roof has been given its own signifance as a wholly public space that acts as the buildings' boardwalk, allowing people to traverse from the ground to the highest point of the building, to experience both the transition from art to finance from a different perspective and to

enjoy the expansive views of the city that is liberated by the rooftop boardwalk.

3.Architecture of the Death

Located within the Merri Creek Reserve in Fitzroy North, this cemetery is designed to accommodate for Melbournes aging population and the current lack of space within the existing cemeteries. My proposal for the site divides the area into a 5x5 metre grid, with all the required programs (space for ashes, crematorium, temples) conforming to the grid. This allows for an easy definition of spaces and functions. Furthermore, the ground plane of the cemetery follows the natural contours of the site. This has been achieved by extruding the 5x5 metre concrete blocks that make up the grid until they hit the contour level. The areas for the crematorium have been moved underground, this ensures that the maximum amount of space is available above ground for the temples and ashes, whilst still having enough space for the crematorium.

4.Bubble Bridge

The Bubble Bridge adapts to Melbourne's love of casual outdoor meetings and coffee culture by offering these programs in new spaces that people don't expect to occupy on water. The juxtaposition of a green space withina bubble that floats above water creates a out of this world experience and atmosphere. The top viewing platform offers an unimpeded view of the city skyline, especially the Eureka Skydeck. The actual shape of the enclosures is derived from buckminster fuller's geodesic domes. They have been used because they offer the aesthetic values needed for this design, along with the requisite structural integrity needed for a bridge of this span.

5.Wearing the City

Architecture can have many forms. With the Wearing the City competition, the task was to take an iconic Melbourne building, in this case Federation Square by LAB Architects and design a garment inspired by it.Working with LAB, several designs were developed, all based around the most dominant features of Federation Square, its fractal pinwheel facade and its materiality. The design of the garment was based off research and design development of the pinwheel system used in the facade to create a unique design that still was easily identifiable as Federation Square. The materials used were chosen due to their similar visual characteristics of the materials used for Federation Square.
