Virtues of Aayatul Kursi
The greatest verse in the Qur-aan
Once Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) asked Hadhrat Ubayy bin Ka’b (radiyallahu anhu): “Do you know which is the greatest verse in the
Qur’an?” He replied, ‘Allah and His Rasul (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) know best.’ Thereafter, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi
wasallam) repeated the question, so Hadhrat Ubayy ibn Ka’b (radiyallahu ‘anhu) replied, ‘Allahu la ilaha illa huwal hayyul qayyum.’
Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) tapped his chest (affectionately) and said, “May you be
congratulated on your knowledge.” Muslim #810
Angels protect the one who recites Aayatul Kursi when he goes to sleep
Hadhrat Qatadah (radiyallahu anhu) narrates that whosoever recites Aayatul Kursi when he goes to sleep, two angels are deputed over him that protect him until he wakes up.
Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said that one who recites Aayatul Kursi before sleeping will be protected by an angel appointed by Allah Ta’ala, and no shaytaan will come close to him till the morning.

A treasure from beneath
the Arsh of Allah
Hadhrat Ali (radiyallahu anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “I have been given Aayatul Kursi from the treasures beneath the Arsh. No Nabi before me was given this.” Hadhrat Ali (radiyallahu anhu) says that from the time he heard this from Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), he never slept without reciting these verses.
Jannah for the one who recites
Aayatul Kursi after every Fardh Salaah
Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Whosoever recites Aayatul Kursi after every Fardh Salaah, nothing will prevent him from entering Jannah, except his death.” Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Whosoever recites Aayatul Kursi after every fardh salaah, will be in the protection of Allah Ta’ala until the next salaah.” Nasai #9848

An Amazing Story Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu anhu) narrates, “Once I was guarding the wealth of zakaat when an
intruder came in and tried to steal some of the food. I caught him and threatened to take him to Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). He began pleading with me saying that he has a family and he is
very much in need so I felt pity for him and let him go.
The next morning Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) asked me what had happened and I explained why I let the intruder go. He told me that he will come again the following day. I waited for him the next day and as predicted by Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), he appeared once again looking for food.
I caught him and threatened to take him once again to Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). He begged me to let him go saying that he was very poor and promised that he will not come back.
I felt pity for him once again and let him go. The next day I reported the incident to Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) who said to me that he is lying to you and that he will return tomorrow.
On the third night I caught the thief for the third time. Again he began pleading with me to let him go say-ing, ‘Please leave me alone and I will teach you something that will really benefit you.’ I asked him what it was and he said, ‘When you go to bed, Recite Aayatul Kursi. Allah Ta’ala will appoint a protector over you
and no shaytaan will be able to come close to you until the morning.’
When Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) heard this he said, ‘Indeed this liar has spoken the truth. Do you know who the thief was over the last three nights?’
I replied, ‘No.’ Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said that he was shaytaan.’”
Bukhaari #2311
Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said, "Whenever
Aayatul Kursi is recited in a home, shaytaan runs away from there."
