Current 52-Bed Floorplate

Page 15: Alkek Expansion Pre-Submittal Conference October 5, 2006

Proposed Floorplate – 40 – 44 beds

Page 16: Alkek Expansion Pre-Submittal Conference October 5, 2006

• Overall appearance of the tower can be preserved

Page 17: Alkek Expansion Pre-Submittal Conference October 5, 2006
Page 18: Alkek Expansion Pre-Submittal Conference October 5, 2006

Design Impacts• Shift stairs and major mechanical chases

closer to elevator core, creating more support space directly adjacent to nursing unit

• Transition can happen at Level 13, the new mechanical floor

Page 19: Alkek Expansion Pre-Submittal Conference October 5, 2006

Elevators

• Infill two existing shafts for staff

• Create 6 new passenger cabs

Page 20: Alkek Expansion Pre-Submittal Conference October 5, 2006

Design Impacts

• Optimal sequence for future build-out

o Growth model may drive recommendation for build out (Inpatient vs. Outpatient vs. support)

o Sequence should minimize disruption to occupants as shell floors are built out.
