Leading, managing, supporting businesses under Retail, F&B, and Distribution groups with revenues of $ 2bn with full end-to-end finance responsibilities. Active role in supporting President in business strategy and execution.

PnL responsibilities of managing the captive consumer-credit/financial services business, with a portfolio of $150 mn in consumer receivables. Turned around the consumer finance business to positive growth track with a record profit and 3 times increase in bottom-line in 5 years.

Team of 100+ professionals with 8 direct reports at the levels of Finance director, controllers and senior managers

Part of the leadership team that strategized retail group’s entry into KSA and is currently expanding the consumer electronics retailing business in KSA with a $100 million investment. Led the full setup of accounting/finance and supply chain functions in KSA.

Supported business expansion into consumer electronics e-commerce business (Xcite.com) that now is #1 ecommerce business in Kuwait.

Acquired Costa Coffee and Wendy’s franchises in Kuwait and Middle East through inorganic acquisition routes. Successfully supported the business in growing the franchises with two times revenue increase in last 3 years with entry into new markets and brands.

Supported the business turnaround of our Distribution business from loss making to a high return 25% ROCE business

Led various working capital initiatives including trade finance arrangements, extension of payment terms, implementation of open-to-buy & frequent buying practices

Led business process engineering of “procure to pay” and “order to cash” processes and implemented functional upgrade of SAP ERP to automate transaction processes, introduce best business practices, and improve control environment. Strategized and led a number of IT initiatives in Retail including trade promotion systems, point of sale systems, business intelligence and analytics software. Supported and provided leadership in transforming IT landscape in our food and beverage business that included a complete roll out of point-of-sale systems and integration with enterprise systems.

Successfully managed our consumer finance business (underwriting, collection, collection-follow-up, and risk management) and recording 3 times bottom line increase in 5 years. Led number of initiatives including new consumer needs oriented financial products, student/youth programs, automation of our collection processes, and introduced credit risk scoring methods for risk analysis.

Responsible for Alghanim group-wide financial performance management including reporting, consolidation, monitoring of key performance indicators, managing quarterly business scorecard reviews, annual budgeting and strategic review processes at Board level.
