Program Refunds
The Revelstoke Parks, Recreation & Culture Department want you to enjoy your recreation experience. Please note that we apply different refund policies to varying classes & programs. For more information, inquire at the front desk or check your receipt for details.
If you find the class is not what you expected and you want to cancel, please make sure you call BEFORE the second class and we will refund you the remaining sessions less a $10.00 Administration fee. No refunds are given after the 2nd session except where circumstances are beyond the individual's control.
FULL refunds are given if the Revelstoke Parks, Recreation & Culture Department cancels the program.
Please note: Some refunds make take up to three weeks to process.
Hall Rentals The Community Centre offers an excellent facility for banquets, weddings, trade shows, large meetings, and conferences with accommodation for up to 400 people. Full commercial kitchen is available with place settings for up to 400 people. We provide staging, tables, (banquet style or round) AV system, internet connection and large pull down screens. Limited WiFi connection throughout the building is also included. 33
NOTE: Wedding Bookings should be made at least 6 months to 1 year in advance to guarantee a rental at the Revelstoke Community Centre.

We have a Fitness Centre for your use before or after your swim! Our equipment offers 2 treadmills, 4 elliptical, 3 bicycles and 1 stair climber. A universal gym and free weights are also available. Admission rates are the same as the Aquatic Centre or you can purchase a combined pass for 11/2 times the pool memberships. * Children under the age of 13 are not permitted in the gym without adult supervision.*
Electronic Punch Cards New electronic Punch Cards can be used for both the Aquatic Centre and the Fitness Centre. Scan in, and easily reload your card when you’re all out!
AQUATIC CENTRE
Come check out our Aquatic Centre which features a 25 meter Lap Pool, Diving Board, Waterslide, as well as Leisure pool, Lazy river, Tots pool, Hot tub, Steam room and Sauna. The Aquatic center is a great place for family fun, exercise and relaxation, but it can be a great place for therapy and physiotherapy. Calling Ducks and Ducklings! Waddle on up to weeks and weeks of wet and ‘waterful’ fun with the Revelstoke Aquaducks Summer Swim Club! The fun begins Thursday, May 1st and runs until early August. This fantastic program offers great benefits for everyone. Whether it is the fun and excitement of the social activities, or the thrill of becoming a better swimmer and competing in the pool, the Revelstoke Aquaducks is a great summer program for all swimmers of any ability.

Schedule: Turtles* 3:30-4:00 pm (Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs, or all 4 days)

Note: Junior and Senior swimmers have ½ hr. dry-land training included in this time. Starting Friday, June 27--Friday practice times will be moved (for Jr’s and Sr’s) to mornings in order to accommodate weekend activities. The confirmed schedule will be available at registration.
Alumni 5:00-6:30 pm This is open to returning summer swim club members. You must be entering grade 12 or older. These swimmers will only be able to attend a maximum of 3 practices per week.
Fees: Turtles -- $170 for 2 days (M&W or T&Th), $225 for 4 days Jr’s & Sr’s - 1st child - $300, 2nd child - $290, 3rd and each additional child $200. Alumni $170
Fees include pool time, coaching, and insurance. All swim meets, clothing, suits, goggles, and social events are subject to additional fees.
Fundraising Requirements
(Raffle Tickets and Coopers Gift Cards, PLUS Option 1 or Option 2) Each family is required to sell raffle tickets (pre-purchased at registration).

Specific information on the above fundraisers will be available at registration. Option 1 – Additional Fundraising Responsibilities
Each family must complete two additional fundraisers (choose from Bottle Drive #1, Bottle Drive #2, or Bottle Sort)
Option 2 – No Additional Fundraising Responsibilities Fees are the same as above except add $150 per family payable at registration.
*NOTE: A $20 gift for our summer fun raffle at the Revelstoke Swim Meet will be required at a later date

Advanced Aquatic Training
Bronze Star Bronze Star is a pre Bronze Medallion program that provides excellent preparation for success
in obtaining Bronze Medallion Award. In Bronze Star participants develop problem solving and decision making skills as they relate to water
rescue and first aid.
Pre-requisite: 10 years and up & Ability to swim
Dates: July 8th - 11th
Time: 12:30pm – 3:30pm
Cost: $100.00 + GST
Did you know Bronze Cross and the NLS courses can earn you credits towards your High School Diploma!
Bronze Medallion The Bronze Medallion award teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water rescue education; judgment, skill and fitness. Rescuers learn tows; carries; defense and released methods in preparation for challenging rescues of increased risk, involving conscious and unconscious victims of various types. Participants also develop stroke efficiency and endurance in timed swim.
Pre requisite: Bronze Star or 13 years of age
Dates: July 15th - 18th
Time: 12:30pm- 5:30pm
Cost: $175.00 + GST (Price includes required manual)
Bronze Cross The Bronze Cross award is designed for lifesaver who want the challenge of more advanced training, including an introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for all advanced training programs including National Lifeguard (NL) and Instructor Certification.
Pre-requisites: Bronze Medallion (must show proof of certification)
Dates: July 22nd - 25th
Time: 12:30pm-5:30pm
Cost: $136.00 + GST *Manual is required from Bronze medallion
Standard First Aid /CPR C Comprehensive training covering all aspects of first aid, CPR and AED use! Whether you need training for employment or simply want to be prepared to respond to life-threatening emergencies, this course will give you the skills and knowledge to act with confidence. Through practical activities, you will learn to recognize and treat injuries including head and spinal, soft-tissue, facial, abdominal and chest, burns, bones and joint, and other common medical emergencies.
This course is a prerequisite for taking your National Lifeguard .

National Life Guard Services The National Lifeguard (NL) awards builds on the skills, knowledge and values that the Lifesaving Society teaches in its Pre-Bronze and Bronze Medal awards to develop the practical skills and knowledge required by lifeguards.
Recognized as the standard measure of lifeguard performance in Canada, NL education is designed to develop a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment, and a mature and responsible attitude toward the role of the lifeguard
Prerequisites: Bronze Cross proof of certification, Standard First Aid/CPR C proof of certification (current within the last 2 years) current award recommended. Must be the age 16 by the last day of class.

About our Preschool!
“Developing the whole child”
Our preschool combines structured activities along with child directed free play where (S.P.I.C.E.) Social, Physical, Intellectual, and Emotional development of each child is emphasized. Our goal is to provide a safe and positive environment where each child is nurtured using developmentally appropriate practices. Our dedicated teaching staff are certified instructors who work in partnership with parents to build understanding and consistency for the children.

Registration Procedure and Method of Payment
1. Registration is ongoing. To avoid disappointment please register early as space is limited.
2. Our Preschool operates from September to June. When you register you will be registering for the entire preschool term.
3. Registration is being accepted at the Revelstoke Community Centre located at 600 Campbell Avenue.
4. Fees are $4.50 per hour for all preschool programs. Payment can be made by cash, debit, cheque, Visa or Mastercard.
5. One of the below payment options MUST be made prior to the first day of classes.
Available Classes September 8th , 2014 – June 19th , 2015 *Preschool does not operate during Christmas Break, Spring Break or on Statutory Holidays.*

Payment options are a follows:
Option 1…….Payment in full for entire preschool term September 9th to June 20th at time of registration.

Option 3……25% at time of registration with three post dated cheques for the remainder made payable to the City of Revelstoke on the 1st of next three consecutive months.
NOTES: Government Subsidy is available for fam-ilies that qualify. Forms are available at the Com-munity Centre prior to the beginning of the pro-gram.
For some, the preschool program fees are tax de-ductible. Keep your receipts for tax purposes, if you lose your receipts and you require us to do a “receipt search” there is a $15.00 administrative charge.

NCES Jr. Naturalist Program The Jr. Naturalist program is an environmental education program designed to teach children the fundamentals of natural science in a fun and engaging, outdoor environment.
The program runs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the summer from July 2nd – August 21st. This year we plan to offer two separate programs for older and younger children ages 5-8 and 9-12.
Registration begins June 1st; cost per program is $10.

This program is a fun, interactive weekly session for parents and care providers and their children that is facilitated by an Early Childhood Educator. Arts and crafts, games, songs, Mother Goose, and a light snack are provided. This program is drop in, so no need to register. Rockin’ Readers
Some children lose ground in reading over the summer. Support your child by reading together, participating in the library’s Summer Reading Club and join us for Rockin’ Readers!
Rockin’ Readers is a free action packed 2.5 hour program that will celebrate stories and learning through play. There will be fun activities to promote reading practice such as: games, Readers’ Theatre, treasure hunts and more! This program is open to all children who have completed Grade One and older.
While children will be registered for the summer, we know they may miss some sessions for holidays or other summer activities.

Nature Scavenger Hunts Description: Do your children love to explore nature, identify and explore their surroundings? Our nature scavenger hunts on the green belt provide your child with the opportunity to identify and learn about nature in Revelstoke. There will be a lunch break in the ball park half way through our adventure. Please pack a healthy lunch, water bottle and prepare your child for the weather. (A comfortable back pack is preferred for free hands!)

Get ready for a summer of amazing fun and cool stuff for children aged 6-11 The camps are offered to all children in Revelstoke, including those who need extra support.
Weekly Camps operate from Monday to Thursday - 9 am to 4 pm, from July 08 to August 21. (Week 1 which is July 8 – 11, will be Tues. – Fri. & week 5 which is Aug. 5 – 8, will be Tues. – Fri. due to the
holiday Monday those weeks).
Each week is based on a different theme such as: Sports week, Arts and Crafts, Wet and Wild, Exploration and Discovery, Nature Week, and Science and Games.

Three Divisions include: Men's & Women's Open, Masters and Recreational (must be 16 years old) Beer Gardens open 5pm on Friday until 5pm on Sunday, at Queen Elizabeth Field. Games start Friday night and proceed Saturday Morning at 10am
