It was my first day at the construction site after I had
completed my one-month apprenticeship. I was first of
all discriminated because of my gender by the
manager. The manager told me that if I altered my
dress to shorts, he would fire me. He also told me that
girls must act like girls. He would not tolerate neutrality
or half-half. Recently, I forgot to inform him about the
damage of a manufacturing tool. He requested me to
undertake that if I commit once more, he would be
entitled to fire me. I was most upset because of his
comment that my appearance indicates that I am not a
good person. He watched me closely, just waiting for a
chance to fire me.
(A transman respondent, 18-24, Tien Giang)

There is no formula for love
A family does not have to
conform to conventional
standards. Simply they love each
other and that enough makes a
true family.

Diversity and inclusive workplaces are productive
workplaces. Our economy works best when we field a full
team, so we can’t afford to leave any talent on the bench.
– Thomas Perez, Secretary of Labor, USA.

I’ve been following your Work with
Pride program with great interest.
And I am very pleased to see the
opening up of some companies that
I have had job interviews with.
First, KPMG has gender neutral
restroom. It is a small thing, but I am
really happy, especially for our
transgender friends. Then, during
the group interviews at PwC, we
were asked to talk about gay and
lesbian topics. They even show us
the family of Ambassador. Ted
Osius. And I was so proud talking
about them. These are the
beginnings but it is very promising
for our community. Thank you so
much for bringing such good
changes.
Have a good day!
