But soon, we will all have to make a choice.

Choosing Todays BC Liberals means choosing abalanced budget, a growing economy, small government, and low taxes.

Returning to the NDP means a return to biggergovernment, consistently reckless spending, more debt,

    and higher taxes.

    Strong Economy, Secure Tomorrow.

Todays BC Liberal Plana P Ct C

In this provincial election, British Columbians will acea choice between Todays BC Liberals plan to controlspending, create jobs and keep the economy growing, orgoing back to the NDP who will run up debt and growthe size o government.

Under the 1990s NDP, we became a have-not province orthe rst time in our history. Per-capita economic growthell to dead last in Canada, and the provincial debtload doubled. Starting in 2001 we turned the page and, through diligence and ocus, got our scal house in orderand climbed back out o the NDPs have-not status. Now,were at a crossroads. Do we keep moving orward, or dowe risk sliding back?

With our balanced budget and the BC Jobs Plan,Todays BC Liberals want to grow the economy and payo the provincial debt. A key part o this plan is takingadvantage o our once-in-a-generation opportunity to

develop a new industry by exporting Liqueed NaturalGas to Asian markets. Over the next 30 years, thisclean resource has the potential to generate $1 trillionin economic activity, $100 billion or the BC ProsperityFund, and 100,000 high-paying jobs. The NDP reuse tocome clean on their position on natural gas and wouldblow this historic opportunity.

The Leader o the NDP and I are bothapplying or the same job, the jobo your Premier, and were doingit at a time when our province issurrounded by economic risk. Letscompare our platorms, our visions, our plans, and our teams... then letyou, the people o B.C., decide.

Around the world, nancial uncertainty still threatens theglobal economy.

Runaway decits and debt have brought hardship topeople in the United States, Greece, France, Spain andnow Cyprus.

In a turbulent global economy, investment is looking

or signals o strength and competence: a sae harbour. The latest international crisis is a resh reminder that wecannot aord to let our guard down in British Columbia or spend more than we take in.

Creating jobs is the best thing we can do to protect andsecure a brighter uture or B.C. amilies.

The BC Jobs Plan has three main goals:

    1. Work with employers, communities and post-secondaryinstitutions to enable job creation across B.C.

    2. Expand the markets or B.C.s goods and services, particularly in Asia Pacic and South Asia.

    Strong Economy

    1. BC Jobs Plan protects our uture3. Strengthen our inrastructure to get goods to market.

Succeeding with these goals requires broad commitmentto scal discipline and skills training. The rst is oundin Balanced Budget 2013. Keeping public debt down isthe key to making B.C. the economic engine o Canada,a place that countries around the world want to invest in

and do business with.B.C. has many strengths to build on:

Abundant natural resources, such as natural gas, orests, seaood and minerals.

Proximity to Asia that gives B.C. an edge in conductingtrade with countries in the Asia Pacic and South Asia.

Our diverse multicultural population acts as a bridgeacross the Pacic.

We are stable and, even better, we are growing.

Todays BC Liberals will use the next term in ofce topursue even greater gains.

Under our eet lies as much energy as Alberta has inits oil patch. It is in the orm o natural gas, a cleaneralternative to oil or coal, in the Northeast corner oBritish Columbia.

Natural gas is extracted using environmentally saemethods.

Today, our market or natural gas is in North America, where we can only ship it via pipeline.

Tomorrow, our goal is to have a Liqueed Natural Gasindustry that will add value to our abundant natural gas

resource by shipping it by sea to Asia where it currentlysells or over ve times the North American price. Byrealizing this vision we can deliver jobs, opportunity anda legacy or uture generations.

What we are doing about it

LNG acilities are currently proposed by businessgroups that include some o the worlds biggest energy

companies Shell, Imperial, Chevron, British Gas,Petronas, SK & ES o South Korea, Inpex and theChinese National Oshore Oil Corporation, to namesome o the major players. Its no antasy.

The projects mean 39,000 jobs to British Columbiaduring construction with another 75,000 ull time jobscreated once in operation. We can create $1 trillion ineconomic activity and create the BC Prosperity Fundwith $100 billion over 30 years.

An opportunity this good aces lots o global competition.Premier Christy Clark and Todays BC Liberals haveworked diligently to enable LNG as an economicgenerator or decades to come.

LNG exports are now a necessity or the uture oCanadas natural gas industry.

ARC Financial Corp., Dreaming Big, Again, October 1, 2012

LNG growth is unolding in real time, all around the

world, and the biggest winners are ar rom beingdetermined. For Canada, nothing is more urgent rightnow than getting in the game.

Jim Prentice, ormer ederal cabinet minister, now vice-chairman othe Canadian Imperial Bank o Commerce, Feb. 2013

We are providing one trillion yen [$10 billion] in loanguarantees. We would like to boost the Canadian

    projects orward.

Keisuke Tsujimoto, general manager o the Vancouver oce o thestate-owned Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation,

    The Vancouver Sun, April 2013

The government has set a goal o at least three LNGacilities online by 2020. In just one year, weve had multi-national companies commit $7 billion to be a part o thisexciting new industry.

How the NDP will blow this opportunity

The NDP are divided on LNG and have not shownindustry the clear positions that investors need. Theyoppose the development o clean-energy Site C. Theyhave promised to review, and even impose a moratorium,

on hydraulic racturing, even though B.C. already has themost up-to-date regulations in the world.

LNG is a once-in-a-lietime opportunity or greatereconomic prosperity, but we have to move quickly. Otherregions have natural gas as well and also want to seize theopportunity.

Now, the NDP wants to slap a job-killing natural gas tax

on our producers in Northeast B.C.

Todays BC Liberals will move decisively to ensure we donot lose out.

[LNG] was an evolution over some decades. Ittook strong provincial level leadership in the stateo western Australia in the seventies and NorthwestShel to occur, and 30 years later everyone says whata wise premier he was at the time.

The issue o how to und public transit in MetroVancouver continues to challenge all levels o government.

Demand is high, but the desire to pay or transitimprovements remains in question.

An environmentally sae and economically sound industry

In 2012, mining companies spent a record $680 millionseeking new coal and mineral deposits. The B.C. Jobs

The NDP has killed mining twice. It did so rst in the1970s. The second time came during their last time inofce when its hostility toward the mining industry costB.C. millions in revenues and thousands o jobs across

our province. Weve closed the gap by many importantmeasures yet we know with continuing support, moreprogress can still be made.

Today, there are 29,000 mining jobs in B.C. and another33 mine applications are working their way through theEnvironmental Assessment process.

participation doubled between 2006 and 2011. Since2004, there has been a 300 per cent increase in youthparticipation.

Over the next decade, there will be more than one million

job openings in British Columbia, 43 per cent o them inthe skilled trades.

You might expect the NDP to applaud a demand-drivenskills training system that will address this need and thathas 33,000 registered apprentices in the career pipeline.

I you thought that, youd be wrong.

Risk o going backwardsThe NDP voted against creating the ITA and creatingthousands o new opportunities or young people. Theyhave assigned the union movement to drat the partys2013 labour platorm. This is why Adrian Dix claims thereis a crisis in skills training.

The unions are pressing the Adrian Dix NDP to undo

our work and restore old-style quotas, compulsory trades, counsellors and costly enorcement.

Under the NDP, unions would move to take over the jobo the ree-market economy.

Every year we graduate a record number o apprentices. In 2013 B.C. is training more than twice as manyapprentices as the NDP did. HRSD Canada reportedthat 85 per cent o B.C. apprentices passed their Red Sealexams. In the rest o the country 77 per cent passed.

Today there is a healthy relationship between learners, trainers, and employers. The goal is to achievecompetency in skills that are o practical use on todays

    job sites.

Instead o listening to demand, the NDP would partnerwith unions to control supply and drive up costs.
