    BEx Ad Hoc Report - Part I

    PrefaceThis page is to give a overview of basic terms and concepts of BW, and tellyou how to create a basic Ad Hoc Query in BEx Query Designer

    PreparationRequired is InfoProvider, such as InfoCube, ODS, InfoSet and Characteristic

    Data Target.

    Creating a basic Ad Hoc QueryAt the moment I'm using the SAP BW 3.5.

    OK, let's start.Please follow me, step by step:

    1. Open Query Designer.

    2. Select your system.

    3. Type your Client, User, Passwordand Language, Click OKto continue.

    4. Please click New Querybutton to create a query in BEx Query Designer.

    5. Select a InfoProviderand click OKto continue.

    6. Your are working at BEx Query Designernow.

    7. Drag/Drop your object for Filters, Free Characteristics, Rows and Columns.

    8. Chek your Queryand Save it.

    9. Type Technical Name and Description for your Query.

    10. Query is saved.

    11. Click Display Query on the Web button.

    12. Aha, Viey nice.

    13. Like as BEx Analyzer, you can set filter value, drilldown, sort, difineexception and condition, etc.

    Click Exception and Conditions button if you want to set exception.

    14. Click Create button to define a new exception.

    15. Define Exception and click Transferto continue.

    16. Exception is created. The cells of Quantity Column displayed difference

    colour.

    17. You can close the section of Exception and Condition.
