When should I schedule?

Due to the nature of birth, I am only able to take 2-3 per month. Trust me when I say, this makes me so sad! I wish I could document a birth every single day! With that said,it is best to schedule your birth story as soon as you possibly can to ensure you are ableto reserve your spot.

Something to consider

Even though I will be hired to do a job, the medical staff holds a much more important job. Please be sure to clear it with your doctor or midwife before booking with me. I always want to be posive that the doctor feels comfortable with me being there.

How it WorksOnce you book your due date, we will sit down for a casual consultaon to get to know each other and answer any quesons you may have. We will meet one more me when you are about 36 weeks. I do encourage your partner to join us at one of our meengs. It’s imporimportant that we all are comfortable with each other. Just because we are only ge ng together twice, don’t hesitate to call or email with any quesons or cconcerns that might come up. I love to hear updates on how things are going. I strive to build a relaonship with each of my clients, so don’t be surprised if you hear from me throughout your pregnancy. I like to check in and find out how things are going for you all!

Due to the documentary style of my work,I edit the majority of my photos in black &white, though I will typically throw in a few color. I feel this gives the images a meless beauty.

I will be on-call 24/7 from 39 to 41 weeks. So make sure to add me to your call list!

I will documeI will document your story from acve labor (usually 6-7cm) through up to 2 hours post-partum to capture all of your baby’s firsts!

With your permission, a few “sneak peeks” will be shared on my Facebook page within 48 hours of birth.

You can excpect your fully downloadable gallery of images within 3-4 weeks, along with a custom designed video slideshow that makes sharing your story with friends and family easier and more beauful than ever!

Once it is me for you to begin pushing, I typically will take my spot by your head, unless otherwise discussed. This allows me to get all of the details and your baby’s first breath, without capturing anything that youmay consider too graphic. In the case that you would prefer for me to stand at your feet to ensure I get some crowining shots, I will more than likely go back and forth between your head and feet to gget both perspecves. If you are planning to have a hospital birth, keep in mind that a lot of them have regulaons about photographingat the feet unl your baby has made a complete exit. Either way, I promise your pictures will be gorgeous!

Aer your baby is born, I will stay for up to 2 hours documenng all of the firsts. Weight, measurements, and even bath, if possible. I love to capture the moments when your baby meets her older siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and whoever else may be there waing for your lile one’s grand entrance.

Relax, be calm & enjoy the moment

Easy for me to say right? I know there won’t be much “relaxing” going on by the me I arrive, but just remember I am there to capture every moment. Don’t worry about me, I will just do my thing. I am more than happy to grab nurses or midwives, refill your ice chips, or even hold your hand if needed. Though my ulmate job is to document your story every step of the way, if you need support, don’t hesitate to ask!

I do I do my best to make you feel comfortable during this whole beauful process, but if forsome reason you feel like you just need a lile space, please ask me to step out for a fewminutes. I promise I won’t mind. I am there for you and your comfort is my #1 goal. I never want to do anything that makes you feel that I am overstepping my boudaries. This is a big reason why I insist on our prebirth consultaons. It’s a chance for you to tellme what you may or may not be comfortable with when the big day comes.

Now comes the best part

Now you can go home and relax and dream about all the beauful images that will soon be yours.

I go through the images from your session and select the best. I am looking for the cream of the crop. I usually narrow it down to about 100 images. Though due to the nature of birth stories, each one is unique, therefore I cannot ever promisean an exact amount. What I do promise is that you will have the exact amount of picturesneeded to completely tell your story.

Your images will be ready and delivered via a fully downloadable online gallery as well as your video slideshow within 3-4 weeks. If you purchased a packaged that includesan album, we will work together to choose the best pictures to include in your custom designed storybook!

Ge ng your photos printed

You have two opons to get your images in print. You can either order prints directly from me through your gallery (I highly recommend this opon) or you have the opon to order your own prints. If prinng yourself here's some things to keep in mind. First, your pictures are all sized to be 4x6́s. This is the nave rao that my camera captures images. If you are prinng in any other size you will need to re-size your image tto avoid unaracve cropping. Second, I have processed your pictures and I think they are perfect as they are. If you forget to tell your lab to not “auto-correct” (oen mes it is a box on the order form that is automacally selected), then they will add saturaon and contrast to your images. They will not resemble the professionally edited images I have provided for you. Third, be careful which lab you chose. We recommend a professional photography prinng lab as opposed to labs like Walmart, Costco etc. This will ensure your pictures are printed at the highest quality possible.
