ENERGY SPEED BUMPyou hit it, you lit it
Energy speed bump is an energy harvestingsystem that generates electricity fromkinetic energy. It resembles a speed bumpand is able to generate electrical energywhen vehicles pass over it, without the needto reduce their speed.
Scope
A portable electricity-generating speed bumpthat does not reduce the speed of vehicles
when they pass over it
Novelty
Introduction
to be placed beneath the road function with the force exerted onto it amount of electricity generated depends
on mass and speed electricity generated will then be directed
to street lamps or even signboard It can also be used at the door mate, grand
entrance, stairs and toll plaza.

Results and discussion
Relationship between mass
of the load and the voltageproduced.
To study this relationship, a load ofmass 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 kg is raisedat height 10 cm and released on thebump. The reading of the voltage istaken.
Relationship between speed
and the voltage produced.To study this relationship, a load ofmass 5 kg is raised at a height of 5cm and then released on the bump.The reading of the voltage is taken.The experiment is repeated by usingheight 10, 15, 20 and 25 cm.Velocity, v, of the load is measuredby using the formula
gh = v2
where g = 10 ms-2 , h = height.
