pourquoi bRNS comme nom de scene?en 2010 quand le groupe a été formé, nous av iez p lusieurs noms en opt ion , choix pénib le car tous nous p laisaient b ien! comme nous aimons b ien les f i lms de science f ic t ion , les sér ies B , un jour nous regardions l ’un d ’eux , «Return of the l iv ing dead» un f i lm un peu barré sur des mor t s v ivants b ien méchant s : l ’ idée leur défoncer le crâne pour les ex terminer, ce qui ne marche pas dans le f i lm. Le mot Brain revenai t et étant fans , c ’es t devenu une év idence Brns étai t né .

votre musique est mi - obscure, mi-angél ique. d ’où t irez-vous l ’ inspirat ion pour son écr i ture?Beaucoup de choses nous inspirent , l ’ar t en général ! Mais ce qui ressor t c ’es t la not ion de p lais ir, p la is ir de fa ire de la musique . on aime bousculer les choses et jouer avec les contrastes : jo ie/peine , t r is tesse/bonheur, v ie/mor t , les champs d ’ac t ions sont i l l imi tés .

Quelles sont vos inf luences musicales ac tuelles?on a des goûts musicaux var iés . en ce moment pendant les tra jet s on écoute pas mal «ought», un groupe canadien , «cate Lebon» aussi , une bel le découver te . Mais en général on écoute de tout !

Mademoisel le Jeanneke - pis a été créée en 1985 et inauguré en 87 pour soutenir une oeuvre de b ienfaisance!

Le res taurateur qui avai t commandé cet te fontaine voulai t à l ’ époque restaurer l ’ égal i té entre l ’homme et la femme: s’ i l fa l la i t qu’ i l y a i t un at tr ibu mal à Bruxel les , pourquoi pas un au feminin également? Quant au choix de la posture c ’es t tout autre chose!

Une par t ie de la légende veut aussi que Jeanneke -Pis so i t le symbole de la f idél i te! I l es t tradi t ionnel de jeter des p ièces dans les vasques de la fontaine , le montant de la somme ainsi sacr i f iée étant fonc t ion de l ’af fec t ion que l ’on por te à la personne aimée! Là c ’es t déjà p lus glamour ! et ce n’es t peut- être pas pour r ien qu’e l le se s i tue sur une ruel le appelée l ’ impasse de la f idél i té .

Comment démarre l ’aventure Cook Strummer ?tout a commencé lorsque j ’a i qui t té Bruxel les pour m’ ins tal ler à Ber l in , i l y a de ça p lus d ’un an et demi . Quand je suis arr ivé , i l fa isai t -20 degrés (sans déconner) .

Je connaissais personne, la v i l le étai t gr ise , e l le étai t lo in ma Bruxel les tranqui l le et famil ia le . Je passe les détai l s mais c ’ étai t sympa.après quelques mois d ’adaptat ion , toute cet te masse créat ive m’a poussé à reprendre le chemin des composi t ions .

et dès la sor t ie du premier eP int i tulé « a sleep » f in décembre 2013.Par la sui te tout s’es t enchané, j ’a i rencontré

les bonnes personnes , comme mon producteur Laurent Z immermann qui m’a réel lement redonné conf iance en mes capaci tés musicales ; le dJ/producteur techno, propr iétaire du label

f iz ic et photographe cosmin trg qui m’a

aidé dans toute la confec t ion de l ’ image

« cook strummer » ou encore danny de goy l , ancien

co -propr iétaire du label « cream

couture », manager de siopis et de son label Mangal i (sous-label appar tenant à get Physical ) .

Quel est la chose à bruxelles qui t ’as le plus inf luencé dans ton parcours d ’ar t iste?L a jeune scène Bruxel lo ise des années 2000 ! I l y avai t tous ces groupes qui tournaient dans tous les sens et c ’ étai t génial !

des projets avec des ar t istes belges ?Plein de projets , encore et toujours! l ’enregis trement d ’un l ’a lbum en août puis sa sor t ie début 2015.J ’a i eu la chance de col laborer avec gordon delacro ix du groupe bruxel lo is recorders , avec mes f rères f lor ian et et ienne , qui jouent dans recorders , transmission et the sunday charmers . d ’autres col laborat ions devraient vo ir le jour d ’ ic i peu , notamment avec anthony anthony (dJ/producteur bruxel lo is) .

Ton meil leur souvenir en concer t à bruxelles?Quand j ’a i fa i t la première par t ie de Mac demarco au Bota avec Morning Maniacs , groupe de rock psyché que j ’avais fondé avec françois Lambot des archbishops . c ’ étai t un bon concer t , l ’a tmosphère chaude et humide du wit loof conférai t une int imi té par t icul ière .
