To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing in reference to Dr. Lee Carroll. I worked with Dr. Carroll for two years, one as

a colleague and another as an administrator. I am delighted that she is seeking employment

with you and equally delighted that she asked me to provide this reference. You will find Dr.

Carroll to be a well-spoken individual with high academic credentials and a strong desire to

provide quality learning opportunities to her students. I recommend her without reservation

and in the highest possible regard.

At Access International Academy Ningbo, Dr. Carroll was a well respected and well-liked

individual. She worked to ensure that her students developed higher-order thinking through

an inquiry-based approach. She developed lessons that taught the prescribed curriculum as

well as giving the students the desire to delve deeper into each subject. It was apparent that

she worked to instill a love of life-long learning into each of her students. The courses Dr.

Carroll taught included AP Calculus, Environmental Science, and Advanced Calculus Seminar.

In fact, Lee obtained College Board Calculus authorization for AIAN and started the AP

Calculus course for the school.

Lee was always early to work and extremely reliable in her attendance. Her lessons were

always well-developed and well-taught. Students were engaged and inquisitive about each

lesson. Lee worked to continue her own learning about not only the subjects she taught, but

also her own personal interests. She is a life-long learner and modeled this in her classroom.

Lee was a highly regarded and well-respected member of the faculty. She gave of her own

time to work with others on staff that required assistance. Others approached her for advice

and assistance on a regular basis. Dr. Carroll and I worked closely to develop the Senior

Research Project which culminated in a thesis paper. Lee worked to keep the students on

task through the maintenance of a course wiki page, and collaborated with other teachers to

create a team of mentors for each of the senior students. Additionally, Dr. Carroll conducted

a staff in-service on creating and using classroom wikis.

Dr. Carroll is an extremely competent and knowledgeable individual. Her desire to teach the

whole individual resonates in all she does. She works outside of the classroom as well in the

areas of clubs and activities – with our school she developed the first ever all-school chess

tournament which she oversaw as advisor and tournament director. Additionally, Lee

worked as the Earth Day Coordinator for our school, leading the charge of organizing and

running this all-day, school-wide event. As part of her after school commitment, Dr.
