Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, initially known as Telugu

University was established through an Act of Andhra Pradesh

Legislature on December 2, 1985. The Telangana Govt adopted this

University Vide GO.Ms.No. 28, Higher Education (UE) Dept

dt: 11.09.2015.

The University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi has

recognized this University as an institution fit to receive central

assistance, under Section 12(b) of the UGC Act for all purposes, vide

UGC letter No. F.5-17/85 (CPP), Dt. 5.12.1990. This University is

also accredited by NAAC (National Assessment and accreditation

Council) in the year 2013.

An experts committee constituted by Distance Education

Council (DEC), New Delhi, a statutory body under Indira Gandhi

National Open University Act 1985, visited the Potti Sreeramulu

Telugu University on July 31 and August 1, 2010 and granted

recognition for the courses offered by the Centre for Distance

Education.

The University is also a member of Association of the Indian

Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities.

I wish all the best to the students who are desirous of joining

various courses in the Centre for Distance Education of Potti

Sreeramulu Telugu University.
