1.1 香港國際機場是世界上最繁忙及設備

最先進的機場之一, 它鞏固了香港作為商業

中心的地位,在香港經濟發展中扮演著一個

重要的角色。以國際空運貨物吞吐量計算,香港國際機場在一九九九年佔世界各地機場的首位。

1.2 本文就一九九四/九五 年至一九九九

/二零零零年的空運貨物統計作詳盡分

析。

2. 資料來海

2.1 空運貨物統計是民航處根據現時兩個

空運貨站所提供的數據所編製'該兩個貨站

分別為香港空運貨站有限公司及亞洲空運中心。

3. 一九九四/九五年至一九九九/二零零零年的空運貨物吞吐量

3.1 香港空運貨物的總吞吐量,由一九九四/九五年的133.2萬公噸增加至一九九七

/九八年的179.6萬公噸,每 年的 平均增長率達10%。在一九九八/九九年間,因為亞洲金融風暴的影響,該年則錄得負 增長8%。隨著區內的經濟復甦,一九九九/二零零零年的空運貨物吞吐量顯著反彈至206萬公噸,按 年 增長率則為25%。

1. Introduction

1.1 The Hong Kong Intemational Airport is one of the busiest and most advanced airports. It finnly establishes Hong Kong's position as a hub of commerce and plays a very important role in its economic development. In tenns of intemational air cargo throughput, the Hong Kong Intemational Airport ranked first amongst a11 airports in the world in 1999.

1.2 This article provides a detailed analysis of the air cargo statistics of Hong Kong from 1994/95 to 1999/2000.

2. Data Source

2.1 Air cargo statistics are compiled by the Civil A viation Department based on infonnation provided by the two air cargo operators, namely, Hong Kong Air Cargo Tenninals Limited and Asia Airfreight Tenninals.

3. Air Cargo Throughput from 1994/95 to 1999/2000

3.1 The total air cargo throughput of Hong Kong increased from 1 332 thousand tonnes in 1994/95 to 1 796 thousand tonnes in 1997/98, representing an average annual growth rate of 10%. However, as a result of the financial tunnoil in the Asian region, a negative growth rate of 8% was recorded in 1998月9. With the recove可of most economies in the region, the throughput rebounded significant1y with an annual growth rate of 25% to about 2 060 thollsand tonnes in 1999/2000.

3.2 Similar growth pattern was observed for both inward and outward air cargoes. However, outward cargoes exhibited a higher average annual growth rate (11%) than that of inward cargoes (7%) in the past five years. As a result, th� share of outward cargoes in the total throughput rose from 53% in 1994/95 to 58% in 1999/2000 (Chart 1).

4.l 在抵港的空運貨物中約有17-19%是屬於抵港轉運貨物1。以 抵港轉運貨物重量計算,由一九九四/九五年的11.3萬公噸增加至一 九 九 九/ 二零零零年的16.1 萬 公

4.1 About 17-19% of inward air cargoes in Hong Kong were inward transhipment cargoes1• In terms of tonnage, inward transhipment cargoes grew from 113 thousand tonnes in 199411995 to 161 thousand tonnes in 1999/2000, representing an annual growth rate of 7%. The corresponding figures for inward direct shipment cargoes2 were 516 thousand tonnes, 705 thousand tonnes and 6% respectively (Chart 2).

4.2 About 13-16% of outward cargoes in Hong Kong were outward transhipment cargoes3• In terms of tormage, transhipment cargoes grew from 94 thousand tonnes in 1994/95 to 161 thousand tonnes in 1999/2000, representing an annual growth rate of 11 %. The corresponding figures for outward direct shipment cargoes4 were 610 thousand tonnes, 1 034 thousand tonnes and 11 % respectively. It may be noted that the direct shipment cargoes rebounded strongly from the relatively low base of 745 thousand tonnes in 1998/1999 to 1 034 thousand tonnes in 1999/2000 (Chart 3).

5. 按主要裝貨/卸貨圓家/地區分析

5.1 在一九九九/二零零零年,抵港的空

運貨 物主要來自亞洲國家/地區,包括台灣( 17%) 、日本(11%) 、泰國(9%) 、新

加坡(7%)、南韓(6%)及中國內地(5%), 這六 個亞洲國家/地區 共佔了 抵港貨 物的55%。

5.2 其他主要裝貨國家/地區包括 美 國(7%) 、澳洲(5%)、德國(5%)及英國(5%) (圖 四)。

5.1 In 1999/2000, inward cargoes to Hong Kong main1y came from countries/territories in Asia, including Taiwan (17%), Japan (11%), Thailand (9%), Singapore (7%), the Republic of Korea (6%) and the mainland of China (the Mainland) (5%). These six Asian countries/territories accounted for 55% of the total inward cargoes.

5.2 Other major countries/territories of loading included the United States (7%), Australia (5%), Germany (5%) and the United Kingdom (5%) (Chart 4).

5.3 離港貨物方面 ,美國是最主要的卸貨國家/地區 ,在一九九九/二零零零年,有22%的離港貨物是運往美國。

5.4 與抵港貨物相似 ,有很大比重的離港貨物是於亞洲的國家/地區卸貨,它們包括日本( 14%)、台灣(12%)、中國內地(6%)、

南韓 (5%) 、新加坡(5%) 、泰國(3%)

及 菲律賓(3%),它們合佔離港貨物的47%(圖五)。

5.3 For outward shipment, USA was the major country/territory of discharge. In 1999/2000, 22% of the outward cargoes were for discharge in USA.

5.4 Like inward cargoes, a significant proportion of outward cargoes was discharged in countries/territories in Asia. They included Japan (14%), Taiwan (12%), the Mainland (6%), the Republic of Korea (5%), Singapore (5%), Thailand (3%) and the Phi1ippines (3%). Altogether they accounted for 47% of outward cargoes in 1999/2000 (Chart 5).

5.5 以下為由一九九四/九五年至一九九九/二零零零年香港主要質易伙伴的抵港及離港貨物的分析 (圓 六)-

(i) 美國在過去六年,美國 皆為香港離港貨物最多的目的 地 ,離港貨物由一九九 四/九五年的17.3萬公噸增加至一九九九 /二零零零年的26.5萬公噸,按年平均增長率達9%。同期間,抵港貨物的按年平均增長率則是6%(由4.6萬公噸至6.1萬公噸)。

(ii) 台灣在過去六年 ,台灣是空運貨物最大的來源地 ,在一九九九/二零零零年共有14.6萬公

噸貨物由台灣抵港,佔抵港貨物17%。當中,28%為轉運貨物 ,此百分比是在主要裝貨國家/地區中最高的。由台灣抵港及由本港運往台灣的貨物比其他主要國家/地區增長迅速,一九九四/九五年至一九九九/二零零零年的按 年平均增長率分別是13%及的%。

(iii) 日本

由日本抵港及由本港運往日本的貨物吞吐量均排列第二。由日本抵港的貨物由一九九四/九五年的6.5萬公噸增加至一九九九/二零零零年的9.9萬公噸,按年平均增長率達9%。而離港貨物則由12萬公噸增至16.9萬公噸,按年平均增長率為7%。

(iv) 幸斤2日t皮在一九九四/九五年至一九九九/二零零零年間,由新加坡抵港及由本港運往新加坡的貨物 皆有所增長。抵港貨物由4.5萬公噸增加至5.9萬公噸,按年平均增長率為6% ; 而離港貨物則由3.7萬公噸增加至5.7萬公噸,按年平均增長率為9%。

5.5 The following analyse the inward and outward cargoes by major trading partners of Hong Kong from 1994/95 to 1999/2000 (Chart 6)-

(i) U.S.A. The United States was the largest destination of outward cargoes of Hong Kong for the past six years. The tonnage of outward cargoes increased from 173 thousand tonnes in 1994/95 to 265 thousand tonnes in 1999/2000, representing an average annual growth rate of 9%. An average annual growth rate of 6% (from 46 thousand tonnes to 61 thousand tonnes) was also recorded for inward cargoes in the same period.

(ii) Taiwan For the past six years, Taiwan was the largest supplier of cargoes. In 1999/2000, 146 thousand tonnes of the inward cargoes were企om Taiwan, accounting for 17% of the total inward cargoes. Of these, 28% were transhipment cargoes. The percentage was the highest amongst all major countries/territories of loading. Cargoes from and to Taiwan grew faster than most of other major countries/territories. Their average annual growth rates from 1994/95 to 1999/2000 were 13% and 15% respectively.

(iii) Japan

Japan ranked second in both inward and outward cargo throughput. Inward cargoes from Japan increased at an average annual growth rate of 9% from 65 thousand tonnes in 1994/95 to 99 thousand tonnes in 1999/2000. Outward cargoes also increased from 120 thousand tonnes to 169 thousand tonnes with an average annual growth rate of 7%.

(iv) Singapore Both inward and outward cargoes for Singapore increased during 1994/95 to 1999/2000. Inward cargoes increased with an average annual growth rate of 6% from 45 thousand tonnes to 59 thousand tonnes and outward cargoes increased with an average annual growth rate of 9% from 37 thousand tonnes to 57 thousand tonnes.

(v) 泰國在一九九九/二零零零年,由泰國抵港的貨物吞吐量排列第三,貨物由一九九四/九五年的7萬公噸增加至一九九九/二零零零年的7.7萬公噸, 每年平均增長率只為2%。 然而,離港至泰國的貨物每年平均增長率則高至12% '由一九九四/九五年的2萬公噸增加至一九九九/二零零零年的3.6萬公噸。

(vi) 中國內地與其他運輸方式不同,內地並不是最主要的空運裝貨/卸貨國家/地區,在一九九九/二零零零年,在裝貨及 卸貨國家/地區中,它分別是排列第八及第四。 其中一個原因是香港鄰近內地,可採用較便宜及有效率的水

路、道路及鐵路交通網絡。 雖然如此,過去五年間,抵港貨物的按年平均增長率仍高達18% '顯示內地與本港使用空運作質易方式的重要性正逐漸增加。 在一九九九/二零零零年 , 抵港及離港的貨物分別約有21%及24% 為轉運貨物,此比重比其地主要國家/地區一般為高。

(vii) 南韓在過去五年間,由南韓抵港的貨物按年平均增長率是7% ' 由一九九四/九五年的3.5萬公噸增加至一九九九/二零零零年的5萬公噸o而離港貨物的相對數字則分別是6% 、4.2萬公噸及5.8萬公噸。

(viii) 英國由英國抵港的貨物 增長比較輕微,由一九九四/九五 年的3.6萬公噸增長至一九九九/二零零零年的3.9萬公噸。 然而 , 離港貨物郤有顯著 增長,按年平均增長率是13%。 由一九九四/九五年的3.4萬公噸增加至一九九九/二零零零年的6.2萬公噸。

(v) Thailand Thailand ranked third in inward cargo throughput in 1999/2000 with a relatively small average annual growth rate of 2% from 70 thousand tonnes in 1994/95 to 77 thousand tonnes in 1999/2000. However, outward cargoes to Thailand increased significantly by an average annual growth rate of 12%, from 20 thousand tonnes in 1994月5 to 36 thousand tonnes in 1999/2000.

(vi) The Mainland Unlike other transpo此 modes for which the Mainland was the top country/territory of loading and discharge, it only ranked the eighth and the fourth top country/territory of inward and outward cargoes in 1999/2000. One of the reasons can be Hong Kong is in the vicinity of the Mainland and the transport of cargoes can make use of the more cheaper and also efficient water, road and rail networks. Despite this, there was a surge in the average annual increase (18%) in the inward cargoes in the past five years, showing the growing importance of the use of air transport for trade with the Mainland. Of the inward and outward cargoes in 1999/2000, about 21 % and 24% were related to air transhipment cargoes. The percentages were high compared with other major countries/territories.

(vii) Republic of Korea Inward cargoes from Korea had an average annual growth rate of 7% in the past five years, from 35 thousand tonnes in 1994/95 to 50 thousand tonnes in 1999/2000. The corresponding figures for outward cargoes were 6%, 42 thousand tonnes and 58 thousand tonnes respectively.

(viii) United Kingdom There was a relatively smal1 growth in inward cargoes from United Kingdom, from 36 thousand tonnes in 1994/95 to 39 thousand tonnes in 1999/2000. However, outward cargoes showed a significant increase of an average annual growth rate of 13% from 34 thousand tonnes in 1994月5 to 62 thousand tonnes in 1999/2000.

6. 國際空運貨物吞吐量排名次序

6.1 根據國際機場協會的資料,香港國際機場在一九九九年的貨物吞吐量(近200萬公噸)佔世界各地機場的國際空運貨物5吞吐量首位 。而緊接著的三個機場亦是在亞洲區的東京 、新加坡及漢城,它們的吞吐量分別是178.6萬公噸、的0萬公噸及140.4萬公噸e以上的數據足可反映亞洲機場在世界空運

質易上的重要性。

6.2 十個最繁忙機場的其餘六個則位於北美或歐洲,而以在安克雷季(140萬公噸)及法蘭克福(135.3萬公噸)的機場的吞吐

量較大。

6.3 至於中國內地 ,上海的機場在一九九九年處理的36.3萬公噸國際空運貨物,位列第二十三位 (圖七)。

不包括在國家/地區以內的空運吞吐量

6. International Air Cargo Throughput

6. 1 According to information of the Airports Council International, the cargo throughput of the Hong Kong International Airport in 1999 (nearly 2 000 thousand tonnes) was the largest in tenns of Înternational air cargoesS handled among all airports in the world. The next three airports were also in the Asian region Tokyo, Singapore and Seoul. Their international air cargo throughputs in 1999 were 1 786, 1 500 and 1 404 thousand tonnes respectively. The leading positions of these airports reflect the importance of air trade in the reglOn.

6.2 The rest of the top ten airports were either in North America or Europe, wÎth Anchorage (1 400 thousand tonnes) and Frankfurt (1 353 thousand tonnes) having higher throughputs.

6.3 For the Mainland, the airport in Shanghai handled 363 thousand tonnes of international air cargo, ranking 23, in 1999 (Chart 7).
