Majima Paper started the paper manufacturing company in Amagasaki. Fuji Paper acquired Majima Paper and became Kanzaki Mill of Fuji Paper. ■設備概要 Outline of facility

塗工工程では、製品の用途や特性に応じて各種原料を配合した独自の塗料を調製し、用途に合わせて各種塗工設備で均一に塗工します。紙、フィルムなどさまざまな基材のもつ特性を最大限に活かす高度な塗工技術によって高機能化に努めています。常にユーザーのニーズに密着した新分野の製品開発を行い、数々の成果を挙げています。

We have the outstanding original technology for coating process. We are able to coat the color evenly on the various substrates in order to achieve the specific functional property of product. We always seek to make the function paper,film etc highly functional by using our highest coating technology which maximize the property of substrate. As a result, we achieve numerous results which meet the needs of customers tightly in the new field as a pioneer.

■ガスタービン設備（自家発電設備）　Gas Turbine

ガスタービン設備とは、都市ガスを燃焼する事で、蒸気エネルギーと電気エネルギーの２つのエネルギーを取り出せるコジェネレーション設備です。（２００３年稼働）Gas turbine is co-generation facility which can generate two energy (steam and electricity) by using city gas. Started in 2003.

The quick delivery based on our production system for making high-value added products efficiently which are the small lot production of many products from the market demand is our strength. Moreover, it is based on our location in an urban area as well.

■ＲＰＦ設備

ＲＰＦ設備とは、工場内外の廃棄物として出た紙やプラスチック等のものを固形燃料に形成する設備で、２００１年より稼働して、その形成されたものは、王子グループ各工場の火力発電の燃料として利用されています。The RPF is a facility that forms wasted paper, plastic, etc. from the inside and outside of factory into solid fuel. Started in 2001, RPF is used as fuel of Thermal-power generation at the mills in Oji group.

■品質管理体制　Quality Management

当工場では、多種多様の製品を製造し、国内はもとより世界各国のお客様に使用していただいています。お客様方が当工場の製品を安心してお使いいただけるよう、2014年4月からは、本社組織として品質保証室を設置し、常にお客様目線での品質管理､品質保証に努めております。また、精密な製品に関しては、クリーンルーム内で埃等が入らないよう慎重に作業が行われています。We produce wide variety of products and our customers are in not only Japan but also around the world. To make our customer feel secure, we set up Quality Assurance Section in April,2014. We always seek Quality Assurance and Quality Control with a customer’s perspective.

積極的に地域社会との関係を深めるべく工場周辺の清掃活動や、「花のまち運動」で工場周辺の花壇に花を植えて美化に努めております。To build trust from the community and make a good relationship with the community, we clean the road and plant flowers around the mill.

環境保全の重要性、資源を大切にすること、すなわち日々暮らしている生活現場の環境を「住民・企業行政・学校」が一体となって良くして行こうという活動精神をもとに、使用済みの割り箸を回収し、リサイクルを行っております。For saving the resources, we collect the used chopsticks and recycle them as chip for Pulp.

王子グループは、環境と調和した森林資源の活用を目指します。王子グループは、「木を使うものは、木を植える義務がある」という考えから、森林づくりに積極的に取り組んできました。そして育った木は大切な資源として余すことなく利用するとともに、その森林は環境づくりや社会への貢献を果たしてきました。

Oji group aim at putting forest resource to practical use in harmony with the environment.We believe in the principle “those who use trees have the responsibility to plant trees”, Oji group have planted forest proactively. And use grown trees exhaustively as a valuable resource. Those trees have made an important contribution to creating a favorable environment and society.

植林の目的は、木材原料の安定確保王子グループは「自分で使うものは自分で植える」と考えており、明治時代から木材原料の確保のため国内社有林を保有しはじめ、戦後は積極的に植林を実施しました。その後、紙の消費量の増大、経済性の問題から木材原料を海外から輸入しはじめ、徐々にその比率を延ばしてきました。1970年代から原料の安定確保の目的で海外植林を開始し、1990年代には本格的に取り組み、現在、約26万ヘクタールまで拡大しています。

持続可能な森林経営のサイクル適切な管理、伐採、植林というサイクルを繰り返すことで、森林から持続的に木材を生産するとともに、森林の様々な環境機能を発揮させることができます。Cycle of Sustainable Forest ManagementRepeating the cycle of appropriately managing, harvesting and planting trees enables sustainable production of trees from forests as well as demonstrations of various environmental functions of forests.

Purpose of plantations are to ensure the stable supply of wood feedstock.Oji group consider that “those who use trees have the responsibility to plant trees”, and have owned the company owned-forests to ensure the stable supply of wood feedstock from the Meiji era. After the world war Ⅱ, we have planted proactively. After that, because of increasing the consumption of paper and economic efficiency, we started to import wood feedstock from overseas, increased the ratio of it gradually. From 1970s, we started the plantations overseas to ensure the stable supply of material and engaged seriously in 1990s. Now, it increases to 260 thousand hectares.

木材生産と社会貢献のため、膨大な面積の社有林を管理王子グループは、日本国内に民間では最大規模となる19万ヘクタールの社有林を所有、管理しています。社有林は当初は製紙原料の生産を目標としましたが、その後は高価値材となる製材用原木の育成へと方針変更、北海道ではエゾマツ、トドマツ、カラマツ、その他の地域ではスギ、ヒノキなどを植林しています。

For producing lumber and contribution to society, we manage a vast company owned- forests.Oji group own and manage 190 thousand hectares company owned-forests which is the largest area in private company. At first we intended to produce material for manufacturing paper, but we changed our policy and cultivated raw wood for lumber which will be a valuable wood. We plant Yezo spruce, Sakhalin fir, larch in Hokkaido and cedar, Hinoki cypress in the other areas.

王子グループでは、7カ国、11の地域において植林事業を展開しています。木材原料の確保とともに、CO2の吸収、雇用や産業の創出により地域社会に貢献します。FSC®等の森林認証取得を進めています。

Oji group develops the tree-planting program in 7 countries, 11 regions. Not only ensure the stable supply of wood feedstock, but also contribute local community in absorption of CO2, creation of job and industry. We are proceeding to get the qualification of forest certification such as FSC.

産業植林は、バイオマス燃料も育てます。地球温暖化防止のためには化石エネルギーの使用削減が必要であり、そのためには持続可能な森林経営によって育成された森林資源のバイオマスエネルギーとしての利用が効果的です。わたし達が推進している植林は、紙の原料となる木材繊維だけでなく、バイオマス燃料も育てており、持続可能な森林経営を前提にした森林利用は地球温暖化対策に大きく貢献しています。Industrial plantation cultivate biofuel.It is necessary to reduce the usage of fossil fuel for countermeasures against global warming. To achieve such purposes, using forest resource which is cultivated in sustainable forest management as biofuel is effective. Afforestation which we promote is for not only wood fiber which will be the material of paper but also biofuel. Using the forest which is premised on the sustainable forest management makes a huge contribution to countermeasures against global warming.

■「王子の森・自然学校」を通した社会貢献Contribution to Society through “Oji Forest Nature School”

王子グループでは、2004年より毎年夏休み期間に、グループ各社の工場や国内社有林を活用した自然体験型環境教育プログラム「王子の森・自然学校」を公益社団法人日本環境教育フォーラムと協働で実施しています。自然観察や間伐体験といった森林に関連したプログラムに加え、製紙工場を見学することで「森、人、産業のつながり」を学ぶ機会を提供しています。Oji group, together with Japan Environment Education Forum, we have made use of our mills and company owned forests to run “Oji Forest Nature School”, an environmental education program that provides nature exposure and experiences for children during every summer vacation since 2004. The program encourages children to learn “connection between forests, human and industry” by hosting paper mills visit and organizing programs in relation with forests such as nature observation and tree thinning.

■森のリサイクル Sustainable Forest Management ■ダイバーシティ推進の取組みについて Diversity Promotion

植林を行い育った木を伐採して原料にすることを繰り返しながら、「持続可能な森林経営」に古くから取り組んでいます。現在、第三者機関による「森林認証」の取得も推進しています。国内では分収林を除く１７万ha全てでSGEC森林認証を取得、海外では１９万ha（７４％）でFSC等の森林認証を取得しています。今後も森林認証を推進していきます。SGEC: Sustainable Green Ecosystem Council (緑の循環認証会議) FSC: Forest Stewardship Council (森林管理協議会)Oji Group has long been working hard to realize “Sustainable Forest Management” in each stage of the cycle, namely planting, growing, harvesting trees and processing them into raw materials. Also, we are currently focusing on acquiring “Forest Certifications” from third-party organizations. All 170 thousand ha of our domestic forests, excluding profit sharing forests, have acquired the SGEC forest certification, and 190 thousand ha (74%) of our overseas forest plantations have acquired the FSC forest certification. We will continue to promote forest certification acquisition.

■紙のリサイクル Recycle of Paper

紙のリサイクルは、使い終わった紙を資源として回収し、紙の原料として再利用する　ことです。国内で利用される古紙は年間1,700万トンに上り、木材資源の節約だけでなく、紙ごみの削減という観点からも、古紙の利用は私たちにとって欠かせない取り組みとなっています。紙のリサイクルには、つくり手、使い手、集め手の3者の役割分担と協力が欠かせません。つくり手である王子グループでは、継続的な設備投資を行い、ちり（小さい斑点）の少ない良質な古紙パルプや古紙パルプを高配合した製品を製造する技術の開発を積極的に進めています。王子グループは、これまでも、これからも、利用可能な古紙を集め、最大限に活用する紙のリサイクルを進めてまいります。Recycle of paper is collecting used paper as resource and reusing it as material of paper. A total of 17 million tons of waste paper used in Japan a year, not only saving wood feedstock but also reducing paper garbage, it is important to use used paper. To recycle paper, division of roles and cooperation among manufacturer, user and collector is necessary.Oji group who is user, make continuous facility investment and promote developing technologies of producing high quality waste paper pulp which have few dust and products which include a lot of waste paper pulp.Oji group promote recycle of paper, collecting usable used paper and use exhaustively now and forever.
