The Characteristics of Vaticanus and Sinaiticus

As I continue to bring you verses each week which are mutilated in the modern versions, Imention two manuscripts on a regular basis. Those two manuscripts being the Sinaiticus andVaticanus. To better understand why these two manuscripts differ so much from the TextusReceptus, I would like to describe these manuscripts to you so you may see how corrupt they

are which means they are absolutely unreliable, yet the modern scholar sees these twomanuscripts as the crowning glory of manuscripts and they believe that God has preservedthese manuscripts to give us a better Bible. When we look at the characteristics of thesemanuscripts we will see if God is the one who really endorses them or is it Satans people whocould better identify with them.

The History(Acts 20:29 KJV) For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in amongyou, not sparing the flock.

The Apostle Paul knew that Satan would waste no time in planting his false prophets and

scholars in the church. Pauls prophecy was right on target because no sooner was the Biblecompleted, Satan had already launched a campaign to destroy it by using intellectuals andGnostics. The Apostle John had died about 100 AD and in the same year a man named JustinMartyr was born. Martyr combined Christianity with Greek Philosophy when he preached.

Justin Martyr (d c 165 AD) was a Christian Apologist and Martyr. He was born around the turnof the century in modern day Palestine. He claimed to have been raised a Gentile, and in hissearch for truth he studied with the Stoics, Aristotelians, Pythagoreans, and Platonists.Impressed by the devotion of Christian martyrs, he was eventually converted to Christianity byan old Christian who taught him about the Hebrew prophets. According to Justin, Christianityfilled the highest aspirations of Platonic philosophy and was, therefore, the "true philosophy."During the reign of Antoninus Pius he taught in Rome, influencing Tatian and Irenaeus. Hewas one of the first to consistently use Greek philosophy (especially Platonism) to explainChristian doctrine, thereby setting himself in dramatic opposition to Tertullian, who would ask"what does Athens have to do with Jerusalem?" The Logos (God immanent), he believed, was"other than" the Father (God transcendent) in number, but not in will. Three of his writings, TheFirst Apology, The Second Apology, and The Dialogue with Trypho, the Jew, exist in completeform, though there is some question about the precise relationship between the First andSecond Apology. Justin, a central figure in the history of second century Christian thought, suffered martyrdom early in the reign of Marcus Aurelius under Junius Rusticus (prefect 162-168 AD)----- Elise M. Bender

A student of Justin Martyr was a man named Tatian. Tatian had recorded Justin Martyrs

heresies and placed them in a Bible version called The Diatesseron about 150 AD. About thistime some Christian missionaries went from Antioch to Alexandria, Egypt where they wanted toreach the pagan philosophers. Keep in mind that in the Bible Egypt represents the kingdom ofSatan and the world. Although the Diatesseron had some Textus Receptus readings in it, itwas considered to be corrupted. In fact, a Syrian Bishop named Theodoret (397-457 AD)found 200 copies of it in his church and threw them out. Tatian had a student named Clement(Not Clement of Rome) who founded the school at Alexandria, Egypt around 200 AD. Thisschool was solely for intellectuals and philosophers. They scorned the Christians at Antioch asmorons and know-nothings. Clement was a great believer and proponent of the Gnosticheresies of the day and his influence over his students was great. His most famous student

was Adamantius Origen (184-254 AD) who was an Arian.

Origen was a heretic and Gnostic and along with Clement of Alexandria helped to corrupt themanuscripts giving us the false versions of today. Here are some of Adamantius Origen'sbeliefs. When he taught, he wore the pagan robes of the pagan philosopher plus he castratedhimself based on his Gnostic views of the evil of the flesh.

    1) He believed the Holy Spirit was a feminine force.2) He believed in Soul Sleep3) He was a very strong proponent of Baptismal regeneration4) He believed that Jesus was only a created being and Gnosticism taught that Jesus becameChrist at his baptism but that he was

never God. He was a just a good man with very high morals.5) He believed in the doctrine of Purgatory6) He believed in transubstantiation7) He believed in the transmigration of the soul and reincarnation of the soul.8) He doubted the temptations of Jesus in Scripture and claimed they could have neverhappened.

    9) The Scriptures were not literal. He was the father of allegory.10) Genesis 1-3 was a myth, not historical or literal, as there was no actual person named"Adam."11) Based upon Matthew 19, a true man of God should be castrated, which he did to himself.12) He taught eternal life was not a gift, instead one must grab hold of it and retain it.13) Christ enters no man until they mentally grasp the understanding of the consummation ofthe ages. (It was Frederick Dennison

Maurice in the 19th century who defined eternal life as coming to a knowledge of God.This is the essence of Gnosticism.)14) He taught there would be no physical resurrection of the believers.

Origen's belief system clearly indicates that he was a Gnostic Greek Philosopher and not atrue child of God. For who can hold these 14 beliefs and still consider themselves saved. Thegreatest corruption of the biblical manuscripts happened in the 2nd century in Alexandria whenthe true Antiochan manuscripts were mutilated to adapt to the beliefs of the Gnostics and

Arians. A 2nd century heretic named Marcion, discounted Matthew, Mark, and John and onlyaccepted Luke, but only after he "corrected" it to fit his Arian beliefs. Today Origen could beclassified as a Jehovahs Witness.

Origens claim to fame was his masterpiece of corruption called The Hexapla. It consisted ofsix versions juxtaposed, and he would freely change any verse he didnt like. His first victimwas 1 John 5:7:

(1 John 5:7 KJV) For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the HolyGhost: and these three are one.

A watershed event took place in 313 AD when Emperor Constantine saw a vision in the sky ofa cross and he then believed he became saved. However, when he described the shape of thecross, he had described the Egyptian Ankh. Satan had deceived this unsaved man intothinking that God gave him the vision. From that time, the persecutions against the Christianshad stopped. Satan could not defeat Christianity through murder and torture so he devised anew method called spiritual espionage. He used Constantine to stop the pogroms anddeclare Christianity was now the state religion. In effect, he became the first Pope.

Constantines first edict in 331 AD. was to have fifty Bibles made up so he called on a mannamed Eusebius. Eusebius was mightily influenced by the teachings of Origen which resultedin him believing the same way, which means he was not a Christian. Eusebius had a goodopportunity to use the pure manuscripts from Antioch but instead he chose the corrupted textsfrom Alexandria and thus the foundation for the modern bibles were formed. He used the fifthcolumn in Origens Hexapla. It is strongly believed in both camps that the foundational texts for

the modern bibles, the Vaticanus and Sinaiticus manuscripts, were two of the original fiftybibles that Eusebius made up. However, there is no specific evidence for this since both theVaticanus and Sinaiticus differ from each other in over 3,000 places in the Gospels alone, which in my mind, would tell me that they could not have been made by the same scribes fromthe same manuscripts at the same time. If they were copied from the same manuscripts, therewould not be that much divergence.

The Vaticanus Manuscript (B)The word Vatican in Latin means Hill of Divination. (Deu 18:10 KJV) There shall not be foundamong you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination,or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, The Vaticanus manuscript was found in the

Vatican library in 1481. It was rejected by the King James Translators because it was verycorrupt and unreliable. The following portions of Scripture are missing from the Vaticanus:Genesis 1:1-46; 28; Psalms 106-138; Matthew 16:2-3; Mark 16:9-20; The Pastoral Epistles (1& 2 Timothy and Titus) and everything after Hebrews 9:14. These were intentional omissionsbecause the manuscript was found in excellent condition with no pieces missing. In theGospels it leaves out 237 words, 452 clauses, and 748 whole sentences. These omissionswere intentional since there was room left on pages to write these in. The Vaticanusmanuscript was written on expensive Vellum and was in good condition when found whichmeans that the missing areas were not due to missing sections but intentional omission.

    The Sinaiticus Manuscript (a) Aleph

The major characteristic of this manuscript is that it is a literary mess. There are mistakes, erasures, sentences written on top of other sentences plus many words are omitted. It containsnearly all the New Testament, the Apocryphal Books plus two other false books, TheShepherd of Hermes and The Epistle of Barnabas. Every page contains corrections andrevisions by at least ten different people. Corrections on the manuscript were made as late asthe sixth or seventh century A.D. With so many revisions and corrections done to thismanuscript, it made it totally worthless. It was found in a garbage can in St. CatherinesMonastery in 1844 by Constantine Tischendorf. The manuscript was so bad, the monks weregoing to burn the manuscript just for heat. It too omits Mark 16:9-20.

On many occasions 10, 20, 30, 40 words are dropped through very carelessness. Letters andwords, even whole sentences, are frequently written twice over, or begun and immediatelycancelled; while that gross blunder, whereby a clause is omitted because it happens to end inthe same words as the clause preceding, occurs no less than 115 times in the NewTestament.--- Dean Burgon

SummaryThese two manuscripts are the foundational manuscripts of all the modern versions. When wesee the characteristics of the two manuscripts as being inferior and loaded with false booksplus many scribal errors and writings, we can see plainly why the modern versions lackintegrity and why they are missing so much. The sad part is that the modern scholars claim

these two manuscripts are the Oldest and Best. This is such an outright lie that the publishersshould be sued for false advertising. Just because something is old does not make it the best.Would you like to have an operation according to 1905 medical knowledge? After all, oldest isbest! Would you like to drive across country in winter in a 1905 car? After all, oldest is best! That theory is nothing but a lie and should not and must not be believed. Just taking a look atthese two fourth century manuscripts, we see how corrupted they are and how they completelyviolate the Scriptures.

(Rev 22:18-19 KJV) For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, Ifany man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:{19} And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take awayhis part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in thisbook.

These modern bibles have definitely taken away the words of God, to the tune of thousands inthe Greek and thousands in the English, which means that all the modern bibles are under thecurse of God and in no way can ever be blessed. When we also factor in the fact that thesetranslation committees all have unbelievers on them, we can know instantly that these modern

bibles are nothing more than false versions.

(Psa 50:16-17 KJV) But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or thatthou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? {17} Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest mywords behind thee.

The above verse teach that unbelievers hate the Word of God. Why then would a Holy Godcommit His Holy Word unto Satans people for correction? The NIV had two sodomites workingon it. The Revised Version of 1881 had a Unitarian working on it. The 1901 ASV had PhilipSchaff as its committee head and he was one who wanted reunification with Rome. The GoodNews Bible had Robert Bratcher who was an unbeliever and disbelieved the first threechapters of Genesis as Westcott did. The Lockman Foundation refused to divulge the names

of the translators of the New American Standard Bible. What have they got to hide? When welook at the beliefs of men like Origen and Justin Martyr who tried to combine Greek philosophywith the Gospel, would God commit His Holy Word to unbelievers like that? We must ask thosequestions of the modern versions and demand an answer.
