I chose Chuo University for its syllabus, which allowed me to major in Psychology whilst also learning Linguistics and Social Sciences. Chuo gives you many opportunities to study new things as well as things you’re passionate about. On campus, I usually spend my time in the International space, ‘G-Square’. When I’m not participating in cultural events, I’m
studying with friends or having coffee with them there. I think that the facilities and activities in G-Square are well equipped, as compared to other universities with international spaces. After graduating Chuo, I’ll be working in sales in a Japanese company here in Tokyo. Job-hunting was tough, especially being surrounded by Japanese and international students-alike, but my friends that I met in G-Square helped me get through everything I needed help with.I feel that Chuo has really helped me learned new things and grow as a person, because Chuo is a university that encourages uniqueness and helps all their students’ grow. So be confident, be yourself and do your best! Good luck!

*In addition to the above, one international student is enrolled in the professional graduate school.*Faculty of Global Management has been established in 2019
CurriculumInternational students who pass the Entrance Exam for Foreign Student Admission and have done the admission procedure are supposed to be enrolled in the regular curriculum in order to obtain their degree. As the classes will primarily be conducted in Japanese except the Faculty of Global Management*, a level of Japanese sufficient enough to understand professional lessons is required. With the exception of subjects exclusive to international study abroad students such as “Japanese Language,” basically students will be enrolled in the same classes with Japanese students.*In the Faculty of Global Management, more than 70% of enrollable subjects are taught in English as the main language.
Student Support●G-Square (Cross-Cultural Exchange Lounge, Tama Campus)G-Square (Cross-Cultural Exchange Lounge) at the Tama Campus is an event space that features monitors on which students can watch international broadcasts such as CCTV and KBS, and serves as a place where international and Japanese students can interact. There is also an international student exchange lounge at the Korakuen Campus.
●AccommodationThere are no international student-use dormitories at Chuo University. The Chuo University Co-op introduces apartments suitable for students. In particular for the Tama Campus, in the surrounding areas there are plenty of apartments where the rent ranges from 30,000 to 50,000 yen/month. This is about 20,000/month cheaper than the average rent in the Tokyo Metropolitan area (compared with the Chuo University Co-op introduced properties). As there are many properties near the university this helps to reduce commuting fees, and students can avoid the heavy commute times on the Tokyo trains.Reference: Chuo University Co-op Accommodations Services URL (Japanese) http://www.chudai-seikyo.or.jp/* Chuo University provides the "International Student Housing Comprehensive Guarantor System," which provides guarantors at the time of moving into an apartment.
Study-Abroad ProgramInternational students are enabled to study abroad for 1 year or 1 semester by Chuo University Study-Abroad program.
EmploymentIn Japan, the employment numbers for international students who received Japanese university education is increasing rapidly. A huge merit of being employed at a Japanese corporation is being able to work under stable conditions once hired. International students who have studied together with Japanese students in the same courses and graduated from Chuo University are highly regarded as immediate assets by corporations.
