ecA Education Centre offers an exciting and fulfi lling academic experience that goes well beyond simply meeting requirements. Here is what parents and stu-dents tell us they value about an ecA education.

Challenging curriculum. Students are encouraged to stretch themselves to take full advantage of all course offers, building on academic strengths and overcom-ing weaknesses. Our hope is that as students accept the challenge of advanced work in areas of strength, they will also "keep in touch" with all major disciplines.

Small classes. Classes are small, teaching techniques are varied, and teachers are available for help outside the classroom. As students mature, they are given more independence; and through training a student will develop a stronger grip of self-direction and deci-sion-making.

GRAMMARecA emphasizes English grammar as an important aspect in the learning of English. To fully grasp and understand the na-ture of the language, students need to identify and remedy the grammatical errors which occur in their writing.

WRITINGecA also acknowledges that students are naturally engaged in active and innovative thinking. Writing may not come as naturally as speaking, but with practice, it can. To enhance their interest and performance in writing, ecA promotes cre-ative writing as a way to express their individual thoughts.

SPEAKING & LISTENINGCharacterized by the informal approach used to lead stu-dents into a topic of discussion in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere, these classes make speaking in and listening to English a matter of habit. Students quickly overcome their fear and insecurity as they continue along the road to good conversational English.

ecA aims to:consolidate the Mathematics foundation in Junior Sec-• ondary students to boost their confi dence;provide plenty of introductory and intermediate level ex-• ercises to train speed and accuracy;stimulate students’ desire to excel through challenging • and drilling exercises;hone students’ knowledge through in-depth Mock Tests • and exams especially prior to examination period;use customized exercises and the analysis of past exam • as well as develop student’s understanding and mark-ing scheme to prepare students for public assessment (HKDSE examination 香港中學文憑考試).

These courses are particularly designed to help students en-ter the Senior Secondary Science curriculum.

The senior courses are geared toward preparing students for open examinations. In order to build a strong foundation, detailed notes and relevant exercises are provided to explain subject content, theoretical principles and experimental re-sults.

Ample practices using ecA mock papers and past papers from open examinations are available to students.

The Business, Accounting and Financial Studies (BAFS) course is tailored for guiding students towards success in exam by providing superb technique and practice. Our course aims to:

give a complete picture of the subject with key points which facilitate stu-• dents’ easy understanding and application;provide plenty of practice in tackling past-paper questions to bolster stu-• dents’ confi dence; provide further exercises which get very close to the structure of the • public exam to give students additional training; and enhance students’ understanding of how to apply accounting knowledge • to authentic business environment and decision-making.

ecA Economics is specially designed to equip students with essential skills to tackle public examination. The course aims to:

enable students to grasp key concepts of each topic;• demonstrate how Economics relates to our daily • lives;develop analytical skills to critically evaluate contem-• porary economic issues; andprovide students with exam-focused training to • sharpen their competitiveness and achieve their best in exams.

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) course consists of four modules: Core, Algorithm and Programming, Multimedia Production and Web Authoring.

The course provides enriched and updated content for students preparing for ICT public exams.

Notes and exercises distributed are well-organized and comprehensive enough to include the latest development in ICT. Students will experience hands-on programming development using Pascal and web-site building us-ing Dreamwaver.

Each module, taught individually, is based on current affairs and emphasis skill development in critical thinking, language, reading and writing, and com-munication.

Each module is carried out with an aim of consolidating knowledge funda-mentals, ensuring each student successfully adapts to the new general stud-ies requriements.

We encourage active analyse and discussion on topics affecting everyday lives, improving student thought processes while understanding relevance of different local and global issues.
