Joining Advanced Fiber Composite
Most structures consist of an assembly of a number of individualelements connected to form a load transmission path. These connections or joints are potentially the weakest points in the structure and may determine its viability
It is desirable to minimize the number of joints in a structure in order to minimize both its weight and cost. Fiber composites have an advantage over metals.
The type of joints can be classified as:
(1) Adhesively bonded
(2) Mechanical, either fastened ( Bolted, Rivet, etc)
(3) Combination of typed 1 and type 3©

การตรวจสอบวัสดุวิธีของเหลวแทรกซึม
เปนการตรวจที่เกาแก จะสามารถตรวจสอบความบกพรองของวัสดุ เชน รอยราวที่บนผิวงาน หรือใตผิวงานไดเฉพาะที่เปดปากสูผิวงานเทานั้น โดยใชหลักการของการดูดซึม (Capillarity)
ขอสําคัญ คือ วัสดุที่จะทําการตรวจสอบนั้น เนื้อวัสดุจะตองไมมีลักษณะเปนรูพรุนและไมดูดซึมของเหลว
วิธีนี้ใชไดผลดีกับชิ้นงานที่ทําจากโลหะ แตก็สามารถนํามาใชกับชิ้นงานที่ทําจากเซรามิค พลาสติก ยาง แกว ฯลฯ ไดเชนกัน สารแทรกซึมจะไมทําใหชิ้นงานเสียหาย
