Crosstalk Rock Classics from the 70’s – 90’s and Beyond

Crosstalk combines a variety of musical influences and experience into a powerhouse of rock energy, performing music ranging from the classics of the 60’s and 70’s to heavier favorites from the 80’s through today.

Lead singer and guitarist Josh Barnette brings a strong background in original rock, an encyclopedic knowledge of radio and album rock from the 80’s and 90’s, incredible vocal range and power, killer rock guitar chops, and he blows a mean harp.

Lead guitarist Doug Erwin played 70’s cover rock before it was “classic” in Austin hangouts like Mother Earth and various dance clubs across the southwest. In the years since, he has studied and performed in the genres of modern country, singer-songwriter, acoustic finger style, and jazz standards, developing a well-rounded palette of guitar colors.

Vocalist Allison Sharp is relatively new to live music performance with a band, but has been working the Austin karaoke circuit for years. She brings a love of classic rock standards, a vocal style influenced by 80’s and 90’s rock divas, and well-honed kickboxing skills for protection when necessary.

Drummer Miguel Enriquez’ first love was death metal guitar grind, but he switched to drums as a better outlet for his aggression. (Don’t be fooled by his laid-back demeanor.) Constantly soaking up new influences, Miguel is equally at home with classic rock, country, metal, and jazz and will dazzle you with his chops.

Bassist Jonathan Ruiz was raised on a little bit of everything from classical to metal, funk to country, and anything in between. With a foundation in piano and guitar and over a decade of tenure in the Austin live music scene, he holds a higher standard for bass than just providing background low notes while still “trying” not to step on any toes.

With male and female lead vocals, twin soaring lead guitars, and killer vocal harmony, coupled with an aggressive rhythm section, Crosstalk brings it all home for classic rock fans.
