Comparados con los ordenadores personales, los smartphones y las tablets son dispositivos bastante

“cerrados”, por así decir. El jailbreak y el rooteo son dos formas de superar las limitaciones del

dispositivo, y otorga la posibilidad de hacer cosas que los fabricantes y las operadoras no quieren que

¿Qué es hacer jailbreak?Hacer jailbreak o jailbreaking es el proceso mediante el cual eliminamos las limitaciones establecidas

por Apple en los iPhones. Esto permite a los usuarios instalar aplicaciones de terceros sin que tengan

que proceder necesariamente de la App Store. El jailbreaking no tiene que ver necesariamente con la

piratería, ya que, esencialmente, lo que permite es usar software que Apple no aprueba.

Es posible hacer jailbreak en dispositivos con limitaciones similares. El jailbreaking no se limita sólo aiOS, ya que también hay un método similar para las Microsoft Surface RT que permite instalar

programas no aprobados por Microsoft. Sin embargo, antes hay que compilar las aplicaciones para

arquitecturas ARM, lo que complica mucho el proceso. No todos los usuarios conocen este

procedimiento, mientras que el jailbreak de iOS es más sencillo.

¿Por qué Apple no quiere que hagas jailbreak?

En Apple no quieren que los usuarios hagan jailbreak por un motivo muy simple: seguridad. El

jailbreaking es un arma de doble filo. Para poder hacer un ja ilbreak es necesario encontrar una

vulnerabilidad en la seguridad del sistema que permita realizar un exploit que se salte las

salvaguardas del fabricante. Esto genera otro debate: ¿Y si quien descubre la vulnerabilidad es alguien

con malas intenciones? No sólo afecta a la seguridad del sistema operativo, sino también a la del

usuario.

Android no necesita pasar por el jailbreaking. El sistema operativo móvil de la gran G permite instalar

aplicaciones que no provengan de Google Play de serie.

¿Qué es rootear?Rootear es el proceso de conseguir privilegios de superusuario o administrador. Ahora se considera

este proceso como algo casi exclusivo de los terminales Android, pero también se podían rootear

terminales que usaban el sistema operativo desarrollado por Nokia, Symbian.

El conseguir permisos de administrador es algo muy habitual en sistemas basados en UNIX, como por

ejemplo Linux. Cuando abrimos una terminal y, por ejemplo, introducimos este comando:

sudo apt-get install vlc && sudo apt-get remove smplayer

Lo que estamos haciendo es decirle al sistema operativo que realice una escalada de privilegios para

primero instalar un programa y después desinstalar otro. Es una operación sencilla , pero que sin

embargo requiere de la autorización del administrador del sistema para ejecutarse.

Rootear en Android funciona de forma parecida. Android tiene un corazón Linux, después de todo. Al

rootear puedes dar a determinadas aplicaciones permisos de superusiario, permitiendo que hagan casi

todo lo que quieran en el s istema operativo. Por ejemplo, una app con permisos de root puede

desinstalar aplicaciones del sistema, instalar binarios del sistema operativo a bajo nivel, revocar

permisos de aplicaciones y hacer otras cosas. Resumiendo, rooteando consigues una experiencia Linux

casi completa en un smartphone.

¿Vale la pena rootear?

La respuesta a esta pregunta depende de a quién le preguntes. A día de hoy ya no es tan necesario ser

root en un terminal Android. La mayoría de funciones que antes requerían los privilegios de

superusuario ahora se pueden hacer de forma nativa, de modo que rootear queda para los usuarios

más avanzados.

Lo que conseguirás si te decides a rootear tu terminal es saltarte la arquitectura de seguridad deAndroid, lo que podría causar problemas potencialmente graves si los usuarios no saben qué están

haciendo. Es por eso que Android no viene rooteado por defecto.

Que usted sólo pudiera hacer 4 polladas siendo root, no significa que sólo se puedan hacer

Tiene mucha razón al decir que no tiene punto de comparación, eso es un hecho.

Con los de los iPhones, conozco a una chica que tiene el iPhone 5S, y tiene jailbreak, y su i

bonito, tiene wsp+ y varios tweaks, pero me ha dicho que la paga de tener todo eso, es que

aleatorios, tiene mucha inestabilidad comparado a android(eso normalmente pasa cuando te

de ROM o juegas con algo importante del sistema), en mi opinión me incomodaría tener eso

aleatorios
