    Bernard Baruch graduated rom the CityCollege o New York and worked as a broker

    beore becoming a partner at A. Housman and

    Company. With his earnings and commissions, he

    bought a seat on the New York Stock Exchange

    or $18,000. There he amassed a ortune beore

    the age o thirty via speculation in the sugar

    market. In 1903 he had his own brokerage rm

    and had gained the reputation o The Lone Wol

    on Wall Street because o his reusal to join any

    other nancial house. By 1910, he had become

    one o Wall Streets nancial leaders.

    Ater his success in business, he devoted his time toward advising Democratic

    presidents Woodrow Wilson and Franklin D. Roosevelt on economic matters.

    In 1946 he was appointed the United States representative to the United

    Nations Atomic Energy Commission (UNAEC) by President Harry S. Truman.

    Bernard Baruch was the rst to coin the term Cold War in reerence to the

    confict between United States and the Soviet Union while giving a speech

    on April 16, 1947.

    As a renowned nancier, shrewd investor, statesman, and presidential

    adviser, he was on the cover o TIME magazine a total o three times in

    For many students, Orientation is the rst step into actual classes. Orientation is planned

    on one o the week days evening and takes place at Baruch College, Singapore - ASEAN

    REP Oce. Attendance is mandatory, and only students, aculty, and selected guests are

    invited. The atmosphere is relaxed and gives students the chance to interact with aculty

    and ellow students. Costs are included in tuition.

    DeliveryMethod

    The classes are delivered via ace-to-ace lectures with proessors rom the United States.

    The proessors will be stationed in Singapore or 2 weekends and are available or

    additional academic consultation with students outside classroom hours by appointment.

    Singapore-based students will also enjoy online access to the award-winning William

    and Anita Newman Library in New York. The library which was awarded the Best

    College Library in America 2003 by ACRL, oers access to numerous academic journaldatabase.

    MethodofAssessment

    Students will be assessed using a combination o examinations and assignments.

    The course proessor will inorm the students at the commencement o the class on the

    actual assessment method that would be used or that specic course.

    Dierent proessors have dierent teaching styles and dierent assessment preerences.

    However, students should expect the assessments to be rigorous and challenging, in keeping

    with the demands o an advanced degree program rom a leading American university.

    Grades awarded by the proessor will be nal and will be part o the ocial student

    record lodged at Baruch College, City University o New York. Students should treat their

    course assessments seriously and put in the requisite time and eorts to secure a good

    grading in order to graduate.

    Internationally Respected Awards

    Upon successul completion o the Baruch EMBA program, you will receive a EMBA degree

    Admission Requirements1. A recognized Bachelors degree or equivalent rom an accredited University or

    recognised institution

    4. Successul Initial Online Application

    The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is not required or admission,

    however it is highly recommended or those candidates whose prior academic

    work does not show distinction or clear evidence o strong quantitative and logical

    reasoning skills. Corporate sponsorship is encouraged.
