In particular, I was responsible for all the projects based on AS/400 machines that deal with manufacturing companies using an ERP system developed by Computer Associates called PRMS. To be able to work with this ERP system, I attended to a PRMS course in the branch of CA in Rome. The most significant PRMS project I participated was for one of the most important multinational pharmaceutics companies based in Italy called RP Scherer.

Main activities and responsibilities Duties : Assisting the sales network in the presale phase and preparing the technical specifications of a product according to the sales agreement; programming and scheduling projects; supervision of personnel involved in a project; organising installation procedures; when necessary, installation of new operating system releases and LANs; contacting suppliers all over the world to buy products to be used in a project; organising meetings with customers to see whether their requests have been satisfied by our work; organising trouble-shooting procedures and then supervising them. Some of the Projects carried out during this period :
Ufficio Italiano dei Cambi : production of CD-ROM of an enquiry procedure of the “Exchange Rates from 1918 to 1996” written in Visual C running under Windows 3.11;
Banca di Roma : Image Storage System used in all the post-offices of the Bank. This systems are configured in a Local Area Network with a Windows NT 4.0 Server and Windows 95 clients. The System also uses a Juke-Box of optical disks which is connected to the SCSI card of the Server. The clients use a Visual Basic program for the data-entry functions and for the functions that deal with the acquisition of the imagines. The data is controlled by a MS-SQL Server while the images are controlled by a Plasmon software called NT-Manager that runs on the Windows NT Server. In this Project, a part of all the activities that involved managing a Project, I had to do also all the operating system installations and configurations.
Banca d’Italia : Image Storage System used in the “Historic File Office” of the Bank where they keep all the old documents of the Bank. The system is made of a UNIX Ware Sever with Fulcrum as DBMS, a certain number of clients, some of them with scanners of different types connected to them. The application on the clients has been written in Visual C and run under Windows 3.11.
Ferrovie dello Stato : This Project has the same characteristics of the one in Banca di Roma described before.
Magazzini del Popolo : This customer is a very big magazine. The Project for them

regards the realisation of the whole Information Technology System based on an IBM AS/400 machine.
ENEL : This Project has the same characteristics of the one that we are doing for Banca di Roma described before but instead of using a Windows NT Server, this customer configured his Local Area Network with OS/2 Servers.
Previous Qualification: System Analyst / SE.
Duties: Installation new releases of the Operating System AOS/VS on Data General Mini Computers installed in the Italian Post Office Ministry. Installation of Applications, training system operators and end-users; solving hardware and software problems, analysing new applications, etc.
