    DelphiCommunityHighSchool, in its attempt to offer amore enriched curriculum toeach and every student, is announcing the following information for the 20162017schoolyears.Itistoastudent'sadvantagetosampleasmuchofthehighschoolcurriculumashe/shesees fit, as long as awise path toward graduation and career goals is followed. Highschoolcounselorsbeginworkingwithstudentsandtheirparentsduringtheeighthgradetoscheduleaprojectedhighschoolprogramthroughgraduation.Athletes are reminded that in order to be eligible for sports competition, at least fivecoursespersemestermustbetakenandpassed.

    StudentsmaychangetheirschedulesthroughthesecondweekinJune.Afterthattime,therewillbenoschedulechangesuntiltheendofthefirstsemester.Theonlyexceptionsinvolveremovalfordisciplinaryreasons(WF)orifthechangeisinitiatedbytheteacher.

    RepeataClassStudentswhohavenotachievedagradeofC+orbetterinanyclassmayrepeatacourseforahighergradewiththeteacherspermission.Anysequentialtypecourse,suchasFrenchI,whichistoberepeated,mustbetakeninthenextavailablesemesterwhenitisoffered,orbeforethestudenthasbegunasubsequentclass,suchasFrenchII.

    Creditwillbeawardedonetime.Whilethefirstgradewillremainonthetranscript,onlythehighergradewillbeusedtocalculateGPAandclassrank.Whencredithasalreadybeenearned,repeatedcoursesmaycountforathleticeligibility,atthediscretionoftheprincipal.
